Pretty excited for this one. It's been too long since I got to play a VC game (not since 2 on the PSP), so just the fact that it's coming to the States is great, but I'm also glad it's a great game. This is a criminally underrated series that deserves more love than it's been getting, and hopefully more people pick this up so this franchise can pick up some steam.
@rglgathrawn: Of which Freedom Planet actually has. I'm not sure what the reviewer thinks would make for a compelling story for a game designed in the vein of Sonic, but Freedom Planet actually has a pretty good story for this kind of game.
I love this game! Just finished it again on Steam and am glad to see it getting a console release. I couldn't disagree more on the story and characters. I love the whole cast and thought the story was actually quite good for it's genre. It's certainly a lot better than most of the games it mimics from their time. I'm a massive Sonic fan, so this was right up my alley and I was happy to see just how well it not only handled similar assets, but exceeded them. The gameplay is varied, the level design is great, the production values are great. Overall, this is just a really good, solid game.
@jordanramee: If you're going to write about indie games, I think there should be a monthly feature article. I love finding indies, but I am picky about what I play when it comes to them. So I'm always looking at what's available and then researching the game to see if it's for me. I think monthly articles on indie games for various systems would be great. I currently only can play PS4 games, so I only look at PS4 Indies. Most recently, I've been marathoning 20XX, which is a fantastic Mega Man clone.
Iconoclast might be my favorite game on this list. Others may be better produced or more iconic, like Braid, but it's the one I had the most fun with and really enjoyed the story and characters. I'll add To The Moon to this list. That has one of my top gaming stories of all time.
@NTM23: I came here specifically to find this game on the list and then, when I didn't see it, make this comment. It's one of my favorite games ever. It's a testament to what great storytelling can do when one person using RPG Maker can still make people cry.
I take it with a grain of salt. Europe is very strike/union happy. France has strikes all the time, and it disrupts public transport. That said, it's not far fetched that Amaon has terrible work conditions. Here in Seattle, they're notorious for their employees complaining about them.
