There really aren't enough cyberpunk media in general. A lot of what is mentioned above is great. Deus Ex is probably my favorite franchise of all time. I think what makes it so great isn't simply how it reflects society, but how relatable it is and how realistic it feels. Games like Deus Ex let us explore a fantastical version of our own world, but one that feels plausible.
Ugh, this is why I returned my Switch. Last year, Mario and Zelda we're the only games I had interest in, and only Mario was the game I actually ended up liking. This year it looks like Nintendo is mainly focused on ports. I'll wait a year and maybe pick it up again, we'll see, but so far I'm pretty disappointed.
We should all be used to games taking forever to come out these days. I waited 8 years for a Deus Ex sequel, I can wait for them to bring us more about this game. Cyberpunk just doesn't get the love it deserves from the gaming industry.
@rcontini: None of that matters cause it's not fun. The world is, for the most part, devoid of life leaving large swaths of empty land to traverse, monsters and combat are repetitive, weapons constantly breaking is annoying, and travel feels like a chore. There's also very little story or character development, so my attention ends up focused on all these little things that annoy me. It's great everyone else loves it, but I just didn't find it fun.
@rcontini: Properly? That's stupid. If there's a more "proper" way to play a game, then it sucks. I realize people love BotW for all it has to offer, I don't. And the fact that there's supposed to be a "proper" way to play in order for it to be enjoyable only emphasizes that point. I'm not interested in grappling some specific way to play the game to make it enjoyable, I just want to play it and enjoy it. But I've also not enjoyed a Zelda game since Ocarina of Time, so I'm convinced the franchise just isn't for me. Which is a shame, I was hoping that BotW would change that for me.
Horizon by far, followed by Persona 5. I just couldn't get into Zelda. Too many issues with the game prevented it from being fun. Repetitive combat, uninteresting exploration in a vast world devoid of a population or anything interesting to see, stamina and weapon endurance are annoying, etc. Horizon just did open world so much better. Lots of interesting changes in places to explore, a world that feels populated, hunting gameplay that feels fresh and entertaining.
@xgalacticax: So stop paying for PS+? I don't get the issue. If you don't like it, don't use it. The games are additional incentives. Are they free? That's a debatable question. It depends on what you perceive you're actually paying for. Since I don't feel like I'm paying PS+ to get monthly games, I feel like the games are an additional incentive.
