@michellebennet: I tend to agree. With youtube the need for video game critics feels kind of irrelevant today. I was making a similar point about Skyrim VR. If you can put up with the sub par graphics, get used to the learning curve, and you aren't prone to motion sickness is going to be one of the best games you play this year. If not you may hate it and give it a 6/10. It ends up bringing down the average score and people wonder why the lowest reviewed verision of Skyrim on metacritic is actually some people's favorite version of the game, myself included.

It's nice to have them around in case something is completely buggy like Tony Hawk 5 though.

@muddrox: Sure but it *is* a negative that this game is more expensive than what it cost 4 years ago. This isn't due to inflation or re releasing a rare game to a niche market. Pretty much the same game was re-released on the Wii U for $20 in 2016. It's a bad business practice on Nintendo's end. They should have at least thrown in an extra world, some of the DKC Returns levels, the N64 game, the original SNES games, hell even the original arcade game would have been nice. At this price point it seems like Nintendo is trying to pull a fast one and rip off their loyal fan base that will happily buy anything they put out cost be damned.

Tropical Freeze is great but it's appalling that Nintendo is doing this.

@so_hai: The one I mentioned in my original comment, "the fact that Nintendo is repackaging an old game for $60"

This is a total rip off at $60. Nintendo is charging MORE now than they were 4 years ago when it first came out! Customers really shouldn't encourage this business practice. Anything over $40 is absurd and even $40 is pushing it. Pretty much the same game, just minus Funky Kong and portability, is available new on the Wii U for $20.

Gamespot should also start listing "always online" as a negative for other games like Steep and Need for Speed.

@og_gamerzzz: I agree about it being too expensive but everything else is ridiculous. There's a lot of creativity in this game. Are you also arguing that sequels should never get a 9 or higher? The game certainly isn't short or simple. Most modern gamers would actually find it to be too difficult and give up. According to howlongtobeat.com, and my own experience, the main story takes about 12 hours to beat and completing it 100% takes about 30 hours.

No negatives? Not even the fact that Nintendo is repackaging an old game for $60 with almost nothing new other than being portable?

I mean the Crash trilogy was a remake of 3 games and it was only $40. DK is amazing but seriously shame on Nintendo for charging full price.

@bubba_666: As much as I don't want to add to a pointless console war I felt like replying anyway. I get the appeal of PC, PS4, and Switch but I really don't get the appeal of the xbox1 at this point. The exclusives seem so minimal for a company that is as rich as Microsoft and for a console that's been around for 4 and 1/2 years. I would like to play Sunset Overdrive (mostly because of the King Buzzo cameo) but I genuinely don't know anyone near me that owns one! Only one friend who lives like 3 hours away.

It looks like we're getting a solid old school style game to balance out a movie. Nice! I played Rayman Legends years ago at a friends house and it was fun. I had always wanted to get it and could never figure out if I wanted it for Wii U or PS4. This makes up my mind for me!

@pumpkinmancer: It seems to be love it or hate it. I still haven't tried it. I have too many games to play. Wipeout VR is amazing.

Cool. I know Knack got slammed by critics but I still wanted to try it out. Glad I don't have to spend any more money to!
