@MAXTHUNDER99: I'm only counting new games, not remasters. Need for Speed hasn't been that great in awhile, especially with the always online requirements. I don't even think Rock n Roll Racing has been remastered.
Some of those looked good and some looked like shovelware. Still seems like a pretty lackluster list when you consider this gen has been around for about 5 years. I wish we'd get a new Hydro Thunder, Burnout, Wave Race, Crusin', Destruction Derby, or something. I may check out Gravel, Redout, and Trailblazers though.
@Renunciation: "the lack of an official score may be due to the fact (?) that the game doesn't even currently have an official release date." But it is out. Not to mention the whole thing reads like a review. They could have just slapped a score on it, anywhere from 7-9 sounds about right after reading the review, add a few pros and cons, and you have an official review from Gamespot. Instead it feels like the game intentionally didn't get a score so that it wouldn't show up on metacritic and bigger releases would.
I mean a game this short and well received doesn't have a single pro review on metacritic. That's extremely suspicious especially when this article isa review! It just doesn't have a score. Weird.
Is there any reason this isn't a review with an official score? When people claim that big publishers are paying off review sites it certainly gives that claim some credibility. Just saying.
I knew I'd love Rayman because I played it some on the Wii U but I wasn't expecting it to become one of my favorite games! I really hope they make another one.
I just realized that the vast majority of what I've been really excited for on PS4 has been older style games like Stardew Valley, Sonic Mania, Resogun, and now this. Kind of weird when I think about it.
I still think there's a market for a Dreamcast 2. Just keep the technology simple and focus on making fun old school style games. Bring back Virtua Tennis and the 2k Sports series while we're at it!
But I digress. Curse of the Moon looks like a fun title worth 10 bucks.
@rglgathrawn: "You do know carts are considerably more expensive to produce than discs, right?"
The digital copy is being sold on their online store for $60 so this isn't an excuse.
"it wasn't uncommon for NES games to be sold, brand new, at $70."
If you include inflation, sure. However these games were typically new and cutting edge. Playing Donkey Kong and Mario Bros on the Atari 2600 was garbage compared to the NES and those are the closest examples I can think of.
"And many of those games were either horrible or only took an hour to beat...or worse, padded out the game with artificial difficulty and bs like Ghosts n Goblins."
Ok? Other games are horrible so this one doesn't deserve to have a negative that mentions pretty much the same game is available for less money on another system? Also, get good. Ghosts n Goblins awesome.
@coldpasta: Care to elaborate? Do you disagree with what I said? I own the game on Wii U. It should absolutely be a negative that there's little reason for Wii U owners to spend 3 times as much for the Switch version.
Here's what the negative should look like:

I'm really not sure what you guys aren't understanding about this.
