Psycho-Hazard Blog

I have a couple of game-related questions.

I'm probably not going to be buying any new games for a while, considering there's a lot I have to beat. My game collection easily tops 200 at this time. Even so, I have some questions about games I've yet to play.

Is Phantasy Star Universe and Online-Only game or can it be played offline as well? If it can be played offline, can I still create my character and choose their class and what not? If it can't be played offline, the game is useless to me. The PS2 servers are history and I'm not going to buy an Xbox. Besides, I already play WoW, I don't need another subscription fee.

Should I get the Special Edition or the Original version of Devil May Cry 3? The Original game is more difficult, and I enjoy challenge, but the Special Edition has Dante's brother Vergil as a playable character. I have never heard of a game that had to be re-released due to unforgiving difficulty. Fun Fact: The Japanese Hard mode in DMC3 became the U.S. version's Normal Mode.

Which version of Okami is better? There's a PS2 version and a Wii version.

Should I rent Madworld despite the disgusted faces my Mom will give me due to all the blood? I already play Fallout 3, so maybe I should?

Now I have some questions about games I own.

In Kingdom Hearts, I go to Wonderland, I'm asked to bring evidence of the heartless to the Queen of Hearts or she'll kill Alice. Now I go around and get claws and stuff. I didn't even know you could pick up and contain a stench. So I get all the evidence I can find and nothing happens. What do I still need to do? Is there another piece of evidence that I haven't found? I've searched up and down, left and right, upside-down and all around. I still can't find anything. Where is this last elusive clue?

In The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of TIme, I'm supposed to go into a volcano to retrieve something. Of course, the mountain happens to be near erupting and I burst into flames within exactly 14 seconds. I know what item I need, but it costs 200 rupees! I can only carry so many! There's gotta be a larger bag for rupees. Where is it?

Any general tips for Devil May Cry? I'm on Mission 11. The game is gradually getting harder and I'm loving it. I've upgraded my weapons with all the orbs I had and I think I'm good on health. I have Stinger Level 2 and Round Trip for Alastor, and Kick 13 and Magma Uppercut for Ifrit. I prefer to use Ebony and Ivory rather than the shotgun or the grenade launcher. The shotgun has a short range and the grenade launcher can only be called cumbersome. Any general tips for enemies or bosses?

That's all I got for now. Oh and here's a commercial that made me laugh. Link

Obligatory New Year's Post

Happy new year people! How was your year overall? Was it great or did it suck? Tell me, I'd like to know. Anyway, I know I only did three reviews, but I'm ending this fighter month thing before it spreads out anymore. EVENT: FIGHTER MONTH, STATUS: SUSPENDED.

On another note, I just recently got a PS2. I set it up, got a few games and everything. The games I currently own are: Soul Calibur III, Kingdom Hearts, and Devil May Cry. But, obtaining the PS2 was not something that went smoothly. I got the PS2 and the three games, but DMC and Soul Calibur didn't work properly. Kingdom Hearts worked absolutely fine, so I knew it wasn't the PS2. The discs were F.U.B.A.R. (Fu*ked Up Beyond All Recognition) and I had to go back to the store. I wen't back to the Gamestop, they didn't have either game. Then we went to another store at the local mall and... oh god. The store was a claustrophobic, unorganized, horrendous load of ASS! They had all the boxes and about half the games, the discs were strewn about all over the counter, and I swear to god, one of the employees was trying to get someone to run to the bank for him! I'm not making this up! We went back to the other store and they looked around and managed to find replacements. Now both games work fine, but at the price of visiting the sh!ttiest Gamestop I've ever been to.

Since I've gotten so few comments (likely because you guys were busy over the holidays), take a look at my previous posts because I think I made some interesting points in my past few posts (Not to mention 2/3 of a game soundtrack I made up.). Take a look at them. I ran out of things to say. Later.

Happy Holidays!

Before I say anything else, I just want to say, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, whatever, Happy Holidays. Well, my Christmas was pretty sweet. My grandparents came over and I got awesome stuff. I got Call of Duty: Black Ops, Uncharted 2 Game of the Year Edition, guns for LEGO figures ordered off of brickarms.com, and a book about modding World of Warcraft. Fu*king awesome. Oh, and I also got $100. If you're from a country that uses a different currency, you're on your own for figuring out what that amounts to. I might be able to go out and buy a PS2 and a few games. So I'm feeling pretty good about my holiday, how was yours? What'd you get? I'd like to know.

If you saw my last post (and you should have) you noticed that I started putting down songs from a playlist on my iTunes. It was a list of music I'd use for a game. I'm now continuing that list, here.

The Show Must Go On!

Fighter Month will continue through the rest of December, because in the past month I have been lazy. I did one review for the special that I was doing. School absorbs EVERYTHING! I have been playing more games recently though. I started playing Assassin's Creed, I started playing Super Monkey Ball again. Super Monkey Ball on the Gamecube is one of the most sadistic games ever devised. The expert stages are insane. I did make it to stage 21, however. I also managed to complete advanced without losing a life, followed by flubbing the third extra stage. It's a fantastic game, but it will drive you insane.

Just last weekend, I went to this palce that recently opened in my area that's got laser tag and games and stuff. There it was, House of the Dead. I actually got to play the original House of the Dead, in 2-player mode. You know what that means! One in each hand! Dual wield! Akimbo! Owning zombies left and right with the controllers that look suspiciously like Harrison Ford's gun from Blade Runner!

I will work on doing more reviews during my winter break. Maybe I'll go buy a game and surprise you. I'm already considering what game I'm going to get. Anyway, HENSHIN A GO-GO BABY!

(You fail if you didn't get that reference.)

I made a setlist of music that may or may not be used for an original video game that I haven't the first clue how I'm going to make. Here's the setlist, just so you'll have some music to listen to. These are not linked, just find them on Youtube ya lazy bums.

How's Life?

Hi guys! Just thought I'd ask you guys how your lives were going. I had final exams this week, but now I'm finished. What's going on with all of you guys? I'm open to discussion. Christmas is coming up and I have absolutley no idea what I want, 'cept maybe a PS2. What should I get for Christmas? Any thoughts? Probably the reason why I'm not sure what I want is because most of the games I want come out next year. Again, if you have any ideas, post them.

Overthinking games is fun. If you think about what's going on in a game too much, you get confused or come up with ridiculous conclusions. For example, through the process of overthinking the Sonic the Hedgehog games, I have concluded that Tails is gay No, really. Why else would he follow Sonic around for years, right? What's another game that you can overthink? Uhh...... OH! In the Mega Man X games, the original Mega Man is nowhere to be seen in any of the games in the series. I think that might be because he was destroyed in a fight with Dr. Wily or Bass or someone. Or maybe he was infected by the Maverick Virus and became evil and they had to kill him, or maybe Dr. Light recycled him to create Mega Man X. See? Overthinking games leads to hilarious conclustions!

I think that's all I have to say for now. Gbye!

Oh and by the way, my Virtua Fighter 5 review is up if ye haven't read it. More Fighter reviews coming soon.

No Zombie Month This Year, FIGHTER MONTH!

I mentioned in my last post (which no one read, sadly) that I would be doing a zombie game special this month. I decided not to do that simply because I didn't have enough games to work with. I haven't played Resident Evil 2 in a while and I won't be beating either Left 4 Dead game any time soon. I just don't have enough zombie games to work with. Maybe another time...

On a lighter note, I made up yet another silly celebration! It's FIGHTER MONTH! I will be reviewing some of my favorite fighting games on this site! I have plenty of games to work with on this one, so this celebration should run smoothly.

On another sad note. I've somewhat lost my want to write posts and reviews. I never get comments anymore. People, if you're reading this, reading comments is my life you know. I love seeing what people have to say about my discussions (THAT'S WHY I CALL THEM DISCUSSIONS!). So when I look at the page even after like 3 days or even a week and read 0 comments, I die inside. I feel like everything I do on this site now is pointless. In other words, COMMENTS PLZ!

This game has such an epic opening sequence.

Lack of Update

Well, this is embarassing. I havent' updated anything on this site in nearly a month. I'm normally good about making time for doing things that I enjoy (which includes writing reviews) but my spare time has been eaten up by games and other things. Clearly, everyone is busy because I'm getting few comments nowadays. If you read any post I make, please, make a comment of some sort! I love commentors.

On the other hand, it's November! You know what that means! I just made up another silly celebration! It's ZOMBIE MONTH! I'm planning on reviewing games based around zombies for the month. So far, the only candidates we have are the Left 4 Dead games (which I recently purchased) and Resident Evil 2. I probably will not finish RE2 this month because the game is a freakin maze. Even with infinite ammo, the game still isn't easy. I'm playing on the standard difficulty because I decided originally that the other difficulties were too easy. Then I realized that I was in deep sh!t, so I found out that the game has an infinite ammo code and I used it. Game's still hard though. The knife in this game is absolutely useless. At least in RE4 and 5 you could follow a knife slash with a brutal melee attack! In this game, it is unrealistically useless. If you know what you're doing, you can kill zombies left and right with a knife! Leon is locked in place gently stabbing the zombies with a dull kitchen knife. I'll talk more about Left 4 Dead as I get further into it.

I'll start updating as much as I can in the time that I have.

My past couple of weeks...

Well... I had a wierd couple of weeks recently. You guys want to know where I've been? Well, here's what happened.

Sick. I was sick for three days this past week. I'm really behind on schoolwork and I was unable to use the computer on those days. At least when my parents were looking. :P So I couldn't post here and I could barely keep up with updates and other things.

New Games. We got three new games the week before I was sick. I got Demon's Souls and Armored Core 4. My brother got Dragon Age Awakening, despite the fact that we haven't beaten normal Dragon Age yet. I can't play video games when I'm sick either, so I couldn't play those games. I got up at 2:30 AM Thursday just to play my games.

Reading. I started a few books during the last 2 weeks. I started The Last Book in the Universe, and Persepolis. They're both really interesting. The Last Book in the Universe depicts a post-apocalyptic world where poverty is now common and gangs control the slums. The only save haven is a city called Eden where genetically improved humans live. The main character is trying to see his dying sister whil avoiding contact with gangs. Persepolis is about the revolution in Iran. Basically after the king was kicked out, everything went to hell. A theocracy or religious government was established. Things got really bad for the Iranians at that point. Then Iraq started to invade. I'm surprised Iran is still standing after all this, and this was in the '80s! I've also been reading the Scott Pilgrim books. For me, they only seem to get more and more interesting. I've read the first three now.

Garry's Mod. I got Garry's Mod off of Steam last Friday. Garry's Mod is a sandbox game that requires games that utilize Valve's patented Source engine. MeProxy-Connection: keep-alive Cache-Control: max-age=0 ing Half-Life 2, Counter Strike: Source, Team Fortress 2, or another game with the same engine is required. There's one problem, The ƒucking thing doesn't work. Apparently, the Mac version of the game has numerous bugs and glitches that will be fixed as fast as possible by the game's creator. I am an unfortunate person in this regard. :(

That's some of the stuff that happened during my last couple of weeks. In conclusion, I will point out that Demon's Souls is freaking hard.

EDIT: I have some things to b!tch and moan about.

DMC. When I heard that there was going to be another Devil May Cry, I got excited... then I saw the trailer. Here's my exact reaction. Ahem... DANTE LOOKS LIKE A ƒUCKING DOUCHE! I can't believe that they could possibly have changed him in such a negative way. Is this really what you see when you think of Dante? If so, you're ƒucked. Just... UGH! I can't stand this! And you know what? That's the only negative thing I can say about the game so far. The graphics and environments look awesome, and the demons look cool. They need to unƒuck themselves and fix Dante. I know I've been using the word ƒuck a lot, but... just... ƒUCK!

That's all I've got for now. Isn't editing posts great?

What game to review?

I honestly don't know which game I want to review next. I need to think of a review that people will want to read and help me earn points on the site. I'm a bit tired of being level 9. So what games can I review? The way I see it, I have a few options. Option #1: Look through my giant-ass collection of games and pick one to talk about. Option #2: Have my watchers suggest games for me to review. And Option #3: Wait until I have some extra free time and/or when a big game is released. I might use all three. What games do you guys think I should review? I own a Nintendo 64 and about 20-30 games for it, a Gamecube and over 100 games for it, a Wii and a couple dozen games for it, and a Playstation 3 and about a dozen games for it. I also own a DS and about 10-20 games for that, not counting GBA games. Suggest some games for me to review! (Now that I think about it, I could finish Half-Life 2 and review that.)

On another note, MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED! ALBERT WESKER FROM RESIDENT EVIL HAS BEEN CONFIRMED FOR MVC3! HOLY FUTZING SH!T! YES!

That is all...

Metal Gear Online and other crap

I'm in a good mood today. I found a play style in Metal Gear Online that works well for me. That and I managed 15 push ups in gym (more than I think I've ever done :D). I used to go around with an assault rifle or sniper rifle and hope to god I hit someone, but now I started using CQC and handguns more and I grab people, throw 'em down and blast a .45 slug into their skulls. Now I can actually kick some ass in this game! I also know the maps pretty well, so I know where I can sneak around to pwn somebody. I also modified my character's appearance shortly before I adopted this play style. Now he really looks like he belongs in the Metal Gear Universe. I also found that if you use weapons that require no cost often, you will have more points to spend later on weapons and equipment. This really is a great game and if you have a PS3 and don't own this game, GET IT NOW! If you don't own a PS3, I LAUGH AT YOU! HA HA!

On another note, I finished the first Scott Pilgrim book after hearing all the fuss about it on the internet. It was good, funny, and original despite being the classic boy-meets-girl story. Scott gets in a lot of awkward situations and it makes the story much more amusing. His friends are hilarious, particularly Wallace Wells. I just look at the guy's face and I just want to laugh. I'll look for the other books at my library.

Finally, I must address the fProxy-Connection: keep-alive Cache-Control: max-age=0 ends I've made since I created this account in September 2009. One of you, I knew beforehand.

KidX13 - You I've known since 2nd grade. I don't believe that I can say anything that hasn't already been said. You may be wierd, but you're the man.

Exber - You were the first guy that tracked me on this site and I enjoy reading your blog posts. I'm sorry about your friend. Thanks for the moral support!

CinnamonEZ20 - I also enjoy your blog posts and your commenting on my posts from time to time. I'm not sure if you've read any of my reviews (I understand, they're freaking long!) but thank you anyway. :)

Katzenbalger - You I've only known for a little while, but you've always got an interesting comment. You may not have written any reviews, but your opinion interests me. If you do write any reviews, I'll read them. Thanks.

That's all for now. Laters.
