@ngocphi: my friend, please don't use the word "we" when writing YOUR opinion. also, you thinking you are forced to play the bad guy means you did not get the message of the game. so it just isn't for you maybe. but i loved it.
@homesliice: not sure what you are referring to here. another article?
it didn't feel like anything in the game is pushed. Ellie and Dina's relationship is very normal and at no point does it matter or stand out in any way that they are both female. yes there are still some people that find same-sex relationships weird, and those people a represented by Seth in the game, but that part is 3 minutes out of a 40-50 hour game. religion was handled pretty nicely in the game with the Seraphites resembling real religions in a way that there are extremists that sort of twist the original idea of the religion to serve their beliefs and people like Lev that see something beautiful, comforting and connecting in his religion.
@blindbsnake: not sure, but yeah it might be she gave up because she had no more leads. as a player i did understand from Owen and Mel's discussion (right before they get killed) that Abby was heading to "some island" (and Owen wanted to go rescue her, but Mel didn't) and that's what Ellie must've heard as well. we get to know the island later with Abby, but at that point with Ellie all we know is "an island". so technically she must have had a lead, but the story continues with her seemingly having no lead. i agree though, if she did have an idea where Abby could be she might have gone after her after all. she did value going after her over rescuing tommy, i don't know if she could pull of the same when it's about Dina.
@deviltaz35: i'm not sure where Jackson is (i would imagine it's close to Canada) and not interested enough to look it up, but i do know where California is. it was probably a long trip, even though she used a boat (or did she only find abby's boat, i don't remember?)
@deviltaz35: yeah the stadium is crazy. i didn't notice water as particularly great or particularly shitty, it just seemed fine to me. but usually if you do not take notice it means it's done really well.
there have been some cuts though. in the beginning in Jackson you see the same character models everywhere. i noticed that indian looking woman especially, because she's in that side story about the bear before you get to the street, then she's talking to her husband about their child being too young to go out near the children playing in the snow and i think she's used a couple of more times. so while that is a little bit immersion breaking the biggest part of the game i was really deeply immersed.
@blindbsnake: well abby is a bit more of a happy ending, since she found the fireflies and is returning to them in the end. at least that is what's suggested through the story. both her and lev might as well have died in a shipwreck 10 minutes after Ellie leaves. but i want it to be the former.
@daidochus: does it matter what other people think? and while it might be a thing on your world the words "respected" and "influencer" do not go together in my opinion. i'm not dissing anything you say about the game, it's a perfectly fine opinion. but trying to support your opinion with the opinions of people that make yt-videos is kind of funny to me.
@deviltaz35: it's adrenaline of course! that's why she can still fight under pain. i don't know... probably. that really is stuff i don't care about that much. if i can accept that Ellie can kill thousands of people without ever getting a bullet in her head, i can accept that as well. i'm rather annoyed when a game sets my playable character's speed to superslow. i hate that.
