Final Fantasy VII Remake Confirmed?

Well, in any case. What's the big deal? The big-deal is that just like the PS3 tech-demo, the video in Crisis Core also cuts off as soon as Cloud jumps off the train. The difference is that at the end of the video, the image reads: "to be continued in Final Fantasy VII." Now at this point, Square-Enix is doing nothing more than just stabbing at my heart and poking an old bear with a stick. Seeing as how FFVII cannot be purchased anywhere, and videogame stores do not carry PSOne games anymore, it's essentially confirming the remake of FFVII for the PlayStation 3.

PS3 gets a price cut . 360 gets a price cut. Back where we started.turgore

Not exactly as consumers are looking at the 360s lower price but many have qualms about Red Rings of Death and other "gifts" from that console. As far as the PS3 its reliable but the price is high for many consumers. As far as the Wii the price is good and thats about it as the sound is lower in quality and the capability of the Wii console is lower than other options with most Wii games being a rippoff for the consumer.

So now with a lower or competitive priced PS3 we get consumers buying that want peace of mind, an included High Definition player and upcoming games like Rachet and Clank, RE 5, FF XIII, MGS4, Drake, Haze, FF Versus, etc. and no worries about the console dying all of a sudden.

With the 360 we get about the same price with no included High Definition playback(correct me if I am wrong), plenty of games and it can stop working all of a sudden (consumer fear RRofD and others).

So Ps3 wins here due to reliability factor.

And the Wii has Wiifit, WiiPlay, Cooking Mama, Mario Strikers, Metroid, etc. but for the most part the majority of Wii games ripoff the consumer with low quality(see shovelware) , lower quality audio and lower quality in the rest of the consoles capability, but it does have a low price point.

Its a tossup folks as many folks are going to go gee 150 bucks more to get the full featured RELIABLE one or settle for the low price point. Most folks want the good stuff(and they want it to work every day!) but do not want to pay much money for it so I see the 360 and Wii sales being squeezed a bit and the PS3 increasing but then hey thats just my opinion.

The 360 dying=nope! but I do see 360 and Wii sales being lower and PS3 sales being higher.

First off let me say:

Rumor and unconfirmed.

But great if true so what do you folks think?:

http://www.psxextreme.com/ps3-news/1821.html

Rumor: 80GB PS3 Price Drop Confirmed, 40GB PS3 Coming?

Ars technica apparently has a very reliable mole on the inside - he has already made two Xbox 360-related reports that got confirmed - so we're going to hope he's right about this: it's the pricing strategy for the PS3 and PS2 this holiday season, and if it's true, it's gonna blow the doors off the industry's news community.

We've all been wondering when we might see a price drop for the newly introduced 80GB PS3, which currently sits at the original launch price of the 60GB PS3 ($599). The 60GB PS3, which dropped to $499 in July, is rapidly disappearing from store shelves, and Sony has announced they will no longer be manufacturing the item. Now, analysts believe we can expect a price drop on the new model by the end of the year, and according to this source, they're correct. Here's a look at the leaked info-

  • 80GB PlayStation 3: $499.99
  • 40GB PlayStation 3: $399.99
  • Spider-Man 3 Blu-ray movie pack in with one, or both
  • PlayStation 2: $99.99

Perhaps we could've expected the first and last lines there, but that 40GB PS3 with a potential Spidey pack-in is awfully intriguing. Does Sony plan to offer a 40GB PS3 in addition to the 80GB PS3, or is this just a limited time thing? We can't be sure, but we do know that the 80GB PS3 price drop should work wonders for the holiday season, and we're also not really surprised to see that new $100 price tag for the PS2. The most dominant video game system in history continues to push, and if you thought last Christmas was the last hurrah for the ol' PS2, you were sorely mistaken.

It's very possible that we'll see this announcement in a couple weeks at the Tokyo Game Show, but if the rumor gets debunked before then, we'll be sure to let you know. In the meantime, it appears Sony has stepped up and done what's necessary: make their products all the more attractive for the holidays.

What killed the Game Cube?

Lack of Third Party game sales in equal numbers to Nintendo game sales so developers seeing poor game sales started jumping ship from the GC to the PS2 and the then nascent X-Box.

How are third party game sales on the Wii?

The Wii sold plenty of consoles that were purchased for the most part by the Nintendo Loyalists and the main problem for Third Party Developers is that Nintendo Loyalists for the most part purchase only Nintendo software.

This bodes badly for the future library on the Wii as when gamers consider multiplat. games its always lower quality on the Wii if you consider game features other than the controller.
