Man, Riot is leagues above everyone else doing eSports. Nice pun, yeah? But I'm completely serious. Riot's streams, especially their bread and butter LCS and world stages, are far more polished in production and the most consistent eSports experience over the course of a full year. With 2 full "seasons" concluded by World Championships at the end of each year. Plus special events during off-seasons such as the MSI invitationals.

Their page lists it as $1500 and that's "on sale". Oculus Rift by itself is $600 and requires a $300 graphic card, so the writer of this article really should know better.

It was stupid and, well, ridiculous. But I enjoyed it in much the same way I enjoy most Sandler movies.

@anime-2k3: A while back there was an official statement saying there would be swappable Oculus lenses for people wearing glasses. I assume that still holds true. I know I've listened to people in podcasts who wear glasses and they have said they had no issue.

@Karmazyn: ****, you are daft. Mantle accomplished exactly what it set out to do - provide a low-level API so that games could take greater advantage of GPU hardware. We would not have DirectX 12 today without Mantle. DX12 was a direct response to Mantle. Furthermore, Mantle was sold and rebranded as Vulkan, which is replacing OpenGL. AMD should be and probably are extremely proud of Mantle. You should be thanking them for pushing the industry forward.

Also, there is nothing bullshit about efficiency increases. Nvidia had a huge advantage here with their Maxwell architecture. AMD is now leapfrogging Nvidia, and maybe Nvidia will leapfrog AMD again when their next architecture. That's the life of healthy competition. The industry across the board, including CPUs, is putting more emphasis on efficiency, as mobile/lightweight devices become more and more important.

@specopsvd: Keep in mind most (all?) of the upper management at IW and a huge chunk of IW's overall staff quit/left the studio after Modern Warfare 2. Most of those guys went on to form Respawn Entertainment (Titanfall). IW of today is just IW in name.
