@Zemus: I think a lot of people who game on consoles exclusively aren't interested in spending the extra dough on VR to begin with. So the potential audience numbers are, I think, misleading. People with high end PC's are probably more willing to pick up an Oculus for their already expensive hobby. Oculus is also going to deliver the premium experience that PC gamers are accustomed to, and some PS4 owners are also high-end PC owners. There's surely room for both to exist though.

@milesprower06: Oculus has a resolution of 1080×1200 in each eye, or 2160*2400 combined. You're also talking about two completely different experiences as one is head-mounted VR. What are you smoking?

@milesprower06: Meeting the recommended specs requires a $300 GPU and pretty much any quad core CPU that has come out in the last 5 years. Any other numbers are irrelevant; no one cares what you spent on your PC.

I'd bet there were very good reasons for it being cancelled. I'm sure the customers win here, ultimately.

I haven't played WoW in a couple years, but I do remember hearing they released their last content patch for WoD... months ago. There's nearly a year until the next expansion. Wtf?

@Tuckpoint: Satya Nadella has been one of the most relevant CEO's in the world since he took on that position about 1 year ago. So I have no idea what you're blabbing about.

@strahd01: That is interesting, especially since both the PS4 and XBONE use some equivalent to an AMD 7XXX card. I suspect a lot of less powerful AMD cards would work fine as long as their RAM is 2GB or more.

The CPU requirements aren't that high though; a Phenom II 945 is about a 6 year old processor, and those things are beastly overclockers, so it'll be easy to blow past the minimum. The recommended is totally expected from an open world game with settings cranked up.

We end up renting movies from the local Family Video about as much as we watch Netflix. Their content has gotten progressively worse.

Oh, and the area where I live, Mediacom has a monopoly on internet service. We blow through our 350 gigs/month limit easily watching Netflix/Youtube, and you only get that many gigs with one of their more premium (and very expensive) internet options.
