@sugi-pula Story Mode is coming in Q1 2014 with 2 additional characters. 8 more characters will be released about a year after that, and more are likely to come even later than that. If you purchase the $40 release content, you will get the 2 new characters + story mode as "free" DLC.
@rarson If they can see which sequences in games gets the players' hearts racing the most, they can narrow in on those sequences/ideas to make better games.
Funny, I was just researching phones the past few days when I stumbled onto an article reviewing Lumias, and in the article the author said Microsoft should buy Nokia.
Getting a Lumia phone myself. They're amazing value from all my research, and Windows 8 mobile reviews have been incredibly positive. Applications weren't there at launch, but supposedly they're showing up at a rapid pace.
This review is far too generous. Where Riot is moving the genre forward by constantly innovating and improving their game seasonally, DOTA2 is essentially the same game DOTA was in 2005. Case in point: extreme mana costs on abilities and creep denying. Archaic mechanics that all but eliminate player on player engagement at the early stages of the game.
I always chuckle when DOTA players proclaim the game requires a much higher skill level, when in fact the game is full of right-click heroes and point-and-click abilities. There are of course exceptions, and some heroes can really push the skill cap, but these heroes are by far the exception to the rule. LoL has these character types as well, in champions like Lee Sin where the skill cap and possibilities are nearly limitless. More to the point, most champions in LoL have skillshots and very few are so simple as right-click-to-win. The game also offers far more counter-play opportunity and fewer scenarios where the first person to fire wins. At the end of the day, however, these games are far more about team coordination than individual skill, and the LoL pro scene has shown us that teams STILL have a ton of room for growth. If you doubt the skill requirements to be good at LoL, then I challenge you to go contend in the LCS - you know Riot is paying teams a salary now, right?
