However it could be like Rainbow Six, seeing one player acts as the server (client server based), he could choose the map and you can join the game. Simples. I find myself joining lobby's with crap map, and quitting till I find a map I like.SaltyMeatballs

Yep, and that kills you on the leaderboards in MW 2, because it counts every quit (due to rage or not) as a loss, and you forfeit any match bonuses. Kind of a Catch 22 situation if you ask me: play this map you hate, or take a loss.

Millerlight89 knows what he is doing in these matters. From what I looked at in his list, it looks like a decent build.

I'm so-so about it. I like the concept, but I get the feeling it could get old pretty fast.

It'll probably come down to the reviews for me.

It will all ultimately lie in how interesting you find the story.

Would you be willing to learn how to build it yourself?

If so, it saves you a significant amount of money in the long run.

[QUOTE="Texas2089"] Killzone actually had decent acting (besides Rico; I hate Rico) but I agree that the dialogue wasn't the best.Khadaj32

While Killzone has insane graphics, I don't see how you can reasonably say the game has even decent voice acting. I completed the campaign, and the dialog comes across as either stilted or part of a huge inside joke we don't get. I mean, the opening scene, where your ship dodges debris, and we get, "Hey man, that was f*cked up!"

Sounds like some of the fraternity boys around campus...

I dunno, I'd prolly shout something similar if put into such a situation >_>

Well, that's okay, so long as you don't throw in "dude" or "brah."

[QUOTE="Wardemon50"]I'm guessing the reason Valve and Gabe are always bashing the PS3 is because they get emails 24/7 to port their games to PS3 and patience is running thin.Sandallman
Haha, thats probably true.

Eh, I gotta go with the fact that the Playstation 3 is a huge pain in the ass to program with. It can be done (look at Uncharted 1&2, MGS 4, Killzone 2, etc) , but I don't think they care enough to take the time or money to develop for it. Why would they, when they have healthy sales on the 360 as a primarily PC-oriented developer? After all, the 360 IS a miniature PC.

[QUOTE="Symphonycometh"] Ah, you gave Killzone a 9/10. Is there anyone that is not looking forward to the game that doesn't want to shoot things like mad for Gameplay?Texas2089

Expanding on what SC said, I just thought I had to point this out. You can't say that voice acting is horrible and dialogue is laughable, then give Killzone a 9. I know you're entitled to your opinion, but... c'mon now.

Also, QTE isn't a substitute for gameplay, I agree, but the game isn't just QTE. That's a side thing, a thing that Quantic Dream didn't have to do, a thing that keeps their game fresh and different from all the other point and click adventure games in history.

The actual gameplay part is about going around, interacting with characters, finding clues and developing the plot.

That is the heart of this genre of video gaming.

Some people around here need to get that through their thick skulls.

Killzone actually had decent acting (besides Rico; I hate Rico) but I agree that the dialogue wasn't the best.

I use to hate matchmaking. But I'm really starting to love it, it allows for all the maps to be played, instead of only the top few, and dont forget ITS A BILLION times better waiting 10 minutes for everyone to join your game and everyone just sitting in a lobby, and lets not forget about you would need host to set up the game, meaning, which usually means the player that kills the host the most gets booted out! AND! it helps the cheating a bit, otherwise you would have set up games and leaderboard would be pretty much useless(even more useless then now) Matchmaking is a lot better, I found games like Rainbow 6 and Gears of War kind of ruined it for not adding it.mikel222222

I see your point, but I still have to go with what White_Sox said. I think consoles are great for a lot of things, but after getting back into CSS lately on my pc, I see why I really missed dedicated servers. IWnet is just so hackneyed most of the time. My favorite part of multiplayer games is putting my headset on and talking to people I play with. PC has a nice little community of players out there to have a good time. I grew weary of jumping into a random match on Xbox Live where half of the players might be 14 year old boys looking for the newest and most annoying glitch to exploit on a given map.

I would recommend you to start with thief 1 because it's a great introduction to the series. Sure you can go for thief 3 instead but it would be far more enjoyable if you know Garrett's story better. Have fun

johnny27

What he said, plus the fact that all of the prior Thief games are just plain fun.

wasn't the third one dumbed down for consoles with only the graphics being upgraded?

Mmm, slighty. Sad I know. It was still a pretty good game. In my opinion, none of them are as viciously awesome as the first one.
