@SpookyRonin I think the ship portions of AC Black Flag are stolen/based off of Sid Meier's Pirates. The only difference is black flag is from a first personish view.

@DarkReign2022 I am a cheapskate gamer. I know that consoles go on sale around the year end holidays. I was estimating the XB1 sale prices would be $300 in 2015, $250 in 2016 and $200 in 2017, probably $180 beyond that. I bought an XB1 for $350 in 2014, with an additional controller (which I'd estimate going on sale for $40) and 1 year of Xbox Live gold (which can be had for around $36). So deducting the extras, I paid a net $274 for the base console. It would've then taken me until 2016 to possibly get a better deal.

Furthermore, with Xbox Live Gold I get a free game every month, which so far have been really good. This includes Project Spark (dull), Worms Battlegrounds (great), D4 (pretty good), IDARB (garbage), Rayman Legends (excellent), Child of Light (great), Pool Nation (good). (I haven't even redeemed my two Assassin's Creed game codes yet). With Xbox Live Rewards (which I don't think Sony has an equivalent to) I can earn a dollar back if I play a free game for 10 hours or more within 14 days of it's initial offering. I didn't sign up until a month ago, so I've only earned $3 in credits so far. So assuming there's not any more double game months, I'll earn another $19 in credits before a 2016 sale. That pushes the net cost of my system to $252, with around 25 free games to boot.

Note: You can reserve free XB1 games if you have a gold membership, but you can't earn MS credits after the 14 days. The other consideration is the hard drive, of which 500 GB is too small. By 2016 I'd expect a larger standard hard drive, i.e. at least 1 TB, but no greater than 2 TB.

To save time, they are:

1) Mario Kart 8

2) Super Smash Bros.

3) Skylanders Trap Team

4) Disney Infinity 2.0

5) Lego Batman 3

This is really sad presentation by Gamespot...the whole article isn't written by one of your journalists...rather its an advertisement presented by Best Buy.

I'm not really a big fan of the creed, but Ubisoft is pushing way too many of these games in too short a time period. We're talking about next year's release and we aren't even what a month out from Unity's release? Why don't they slow it down a bit (say a 2-3 year release cycle) and work on some kind of meaningful story?

@balintcsikos EA forces it's publishers to adopt "always online" or "free to play" models, and makes them cut out parts of their games to sell them back as DLC. EA almost never allows for the release of complete games with DLC. EA has a very stringent DRM policy requiring you to log on to Origin to play their games and Origin is now even reaching into consoles. EA is notorious for shutting servers down and rendering purchased games as useless...sometimes after only being on the market for a short period of time. EAs sports franchises are the same games year after year with a few name/jersey changes. Lastly if a game tanks, EA axes the publisher and gives all their IP to some other hack/low cost publisher.

Bioware was once a premier RPG maker, now they make action games (similar to everything else EA publishes) and are a shadow of their former selves. I'd bet DAI will be more of a SJW expose than a RPG game.

@bluefox755 They're getting rid of the antiquated good/evil choice selection and replacing it with a modern <BLEEP>/straight choice selection. When you've completed the game you'll finally know just how <BLEEP> you are.

Why does Assassin's Creed sell so well? I recently completed the first game and graphically it was pretty (I'd guess amazing for 2007). The modern day story was interesting, but the crusades story (or diatribes) lacked much interest. The gameplay was ho-hum, the quests and flag collections were tedious. I own the Ezio trilogy, but after playing the first game I lack motivation to continue. I don't really understand what the draw to this series is. Please enlighten me.
