I might be wrong, but i think with that mobo you can use almost any newer cpu. If you are not planning on upgrading your gpu in a near future, i would recommend something like a E4400-E4700, for an even match between cpu and gpu. If you think you are gonna get a new gpu soon you could go for a more powerful CPU like a E8400 or Q6600 so you dont get bottlenecked on the cpu again.

I think you should set it the alarm for 70 C, cause that is where you normally will start experienceing errors and such. You can go about 20 degrees more before you start risking to damage your hardware, but it is not advisable to let it get that hot because of the errors you might get.

If you are looking for OC your CPU, you should aim for a temperature just around 65 C when the it is at 100% loading.

Whenever I start using IE there usually dont go more than a couple of months before it starts getting slow and I get tons of crashes. And it cant get fixed without formatting.

I have never experienced anything like that in Firefox, even with very long between formatting.

Firefox is much more stable than Internet Explorer. And with Firefox you dont get all those searchbars when installing freeware.

If you are in doubt wether or not it is to hot, then download ATItool and check for artifacts in a couple of minutes, if you dont get any, your GPU aint overheating. And if you do get artifacts then you can try and turn up your gpu fan speed. You can do that with Rivatune.

You can see how both things are done here: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/245841-11-guide-overclocking-video-cards-warning (and overclock how to overclock your GPU)

It sounds like some spyware i have had. But if you have already formated your pc, and didnt bring anything with you there could cause it to reappear, then it must be something else.

Have you tried to reset your router? look it up in your manual for to how to do it. If that doesnt help either then it is probably not the router.

You use distilled water, cause distilled water should not cause any damage if spilled on parts.

ch5richards

While destilled water does not conduct electricity, it will still damage your computer if spilling it, because it will then dissolve tiny bits of metal from the computer which will then make the water able to condont electricity creating a short.

I use nothing except Vista Firewall, and my pc is fine and has been for the last 6 months. Anti-virus programs are just a pain in the ass and does only rarely find anything. Use your head instead and dont install suspicious looking stuff.

Raise your FSB gradually (like 15 at the time) in BIOS(you can look up how to do it in your motherboard manual), stress test in windows (you could use superpi and fanspeed for that), do that untill your pc wont start or your cpu gets past 65C when stresstesting. Done.
