It's hard to believe that they are really this stupid. Not one Executive in the past few months has said anything to support the community. You know, the people who actually shell out the money to buy their console on launch day. Sure, there will be plenty of sales, but if you lose a big chunk of the core community there is no way you can 'win' a generation.
@carbonFibreOpti @stoneface91 @GrandMaster555 I'm sure you know better than M$ that the x1 will play used games. Most people can afford decent internet, that isn't the issue. Though one point, I don't play multiplayer on consoles, and only hook it up to the internet to update games or download new ones. However, the receiver is so weak that it can't hold a stable connection in my room, so I have to move it. It's not uncommon for it to lose it's connection for hours or days if i do nothing about it. So, high speed internet here, expensive wireless setup, runs perfecctly on all computers, barely works on a gaming system meant for games. I know I'm not the only one with this setup.
The problem with the x1 is that it is moving in the complete opposite direction of where the consumers want the industry to head. It is the epitome of DRM, 1984-esque complete with a camera to watch you.
@darlofc67 They wouldn't do that. This close to release it costs what it costs. They would either have to take $100 loss per box (it wouldn't be the first time) or they lied about how much it costs to make, then inflated the price just so they could undercut Sony a month before their release. Even if both those options didn't undermine consumer trust in the company, they would have had to know a long time in advance that Sony was launching in December.
@advancedcaveman Surprisingly, talking thesaurus (there is more than one way to say 'dumb', by the way), your hobbies and interests are not high up on the list of things I care about. Tired memes aside, if you honestly think the golden age of gaming is over then you have a long, long time of looking back and sighing forlornly. I'll be over here, playing awesome games that come out damn near every day.
@advancedcaveman Cool story bro, but there are plenty of unique and compelling games out there. If you are fed up with games in general it might mean you need a new hobby.
I really want to buy one, but I can't justify spending $300 (after getting a memory card) just to play P4 Golden and a few indie titles I already have on PC. Give me a price drop or more games and I will get one.
