Huh...popularity...
by War_Martyr on Comments
Yeah, so far I've had two Live friend requests and three GS friend requests, which the two are people I've run into from Gamespot...which begs the qustion, what is it about me that people find interesting? It really can't be my forum posts, since 90 percent of them are smart ass remarks to stupid questions from the TC.
Anyway, nothing much recently, just did a couple movie runs. I finally saw AVPR which does justice to the first one. Seriously, the first one made the predators look like pansies, and at least Requiem portrays them as the intergalactic spartans that they should be known as. Picked up a movie called Inside, which bluntly, is the most f*cked up movie I've ever seen. It's french, I think, and is about a pregnant woman who's stalked by a madwoman who does the most screwed up things to this woman...this movie has burned my mind. Bought One Missed Call 1 and 2, japanese version, Witchboard, Resurrecting the Champ, and Day Of The Dead remake...which isn't as bad as I thought it would be...which, by the way, "ceiling running zombies" fall into my category between "lame" and "really freaky demonic dead people."
Stupid Homebrewed Joke
by War_Martyr on Comments
The Incredible Hulk is taking a piss by a tree, when all of a sudden he lets out an earthshattering howl and starts jumping around and punching buildings down and punting cars left and right. People are trying to calm this enraged beast down, but he only backhands them all, sending them cartwheeling over skycrapers. Still, the Hulk is screaming, jumping and beating the living crap out of everything in sight. The whole city gets together, trying to figure out what the hell is going on, until an old man carrying pruning shears joins the party and says, "Damndest thing: I was trimming my tree, and then all of a sudden, these two massive limes came tumbling down."
Okay, I know this joke is stupid...I just made it up. I was bored and was watching someone make key lime pie.
A Simple, Dirty Joke
by War_Martyr on Comments
I got a joke for you guys. I read it in a magazine a couple years ago(I forgot which one) and I tell it to people every now and then.
A drunk guy walks into a bar, and asks the bartender if he can use the bathroom. The bartender says yes, and points him to the direction. An hour later, the bartender doesn't hear from the drunk guy but continues serving his customers. All of a sudden, a blood curdling scream fills the whole bar and freaks the hell out of everyone. Thinking it's just something outside, the bartender continues with his customers. A minute later, the same blood curdling scream fills the bar and causes everyone to run out of the bar in panic. Furious, the bartender walks into the bathroom and tells the drunk guy, "What the hell are you doing? You've scared all my customers away!" The drunk guy says, "I'm sorry, but I took a dump, and now everytime I flush the toilet, something squeezes my testicles." The bartender says, "You idiot, you're sitting in the mop bucket!"
Street Kings

Just saw Street Kings today, awesome drama. If you were pretty pumped for the movie, it won't disappoint. And it shows the trailer for that Angelina Jolie assassin movie which also looks awesome. (sorry, forgot the name of the movie) Well, that's the high point of the day...seriously. I pretty much did absolutely nothing today.
Awright!

Well, since I got tagged, and I'm still pretty rookie on the GameSpot site, I'll just follow manhunt420's lead.
1. My name is Patrick Masanobu Koge-Jones, but I prefer Koge-Jones. (Or how people like to say, KAWGEE JAWNZ!)
2. Writing is my life. I write poetry, stories, tried my hand at songs, pretty much anything that uses a pen, paper and thought.
3. Got engaged on Valentine's Day to Linsey Latupo Lafitaga, getting married when she returns home from Kuwait in about a year. (Army National Guard)
4. I am 23 years old, only child.
5. I used to be a quiet kid...then I worked as a baker and became one rowdy mofo.

Wha Happen to Hip Hop?
by War_Martyr on Comments
Most of you know me as a metal head, I'm usually listening to death metal or alternative rock. But way back then, I was into the hip hop phase. Ice-T, Method Man, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Master P, Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G., NWA, Bone Thugs and Harmony, you know, the old school guys whose songs actually meant something regarding the hard life in the hood, or the hardships they went through to make it out on top. You know, their songs actually had meaning instead of the crap I hear about nowdays about ho's, smoking weed, going to the club, or having lots of money.
I know true hip hop died out years ago, and it's more about the image than the actual skill of crafting a song that won't just turn into a one hit wonder like a fading fashion trend. Don't get me wrong, I'll be a metal head for life, but I grew up on the guys mentioned above, and it just hurts a little to see what rap music has been reduced to. I'm in no way praising the Crips vs. the Bloods warfare or saying being a gangster is cool, I'm just saying I have to admit that they have opened my eyes as to why these people have done the things they've done, and if you listen carefully, their songs tell a story no one else would possibly survive to tell.
Let me tell you, I can't go to work without feeling a little disgusted when I flip to the hip hop station. The songs I hear just lack meaning. Most songs either sound like a very long pickup line or just some dude ranting about something that someone out there thought was good enough for a record deal. Even with the rock station, these new talents are just too depressing, singing about suicide or just crying on the mic about how the woman of their dreams doesn't notice them. Thus, I'm forced to enjoy my music in what I think is perhaps the most outdated library in history. It also doesn't help that this is the age of the MP3, and every record store has shut down, forcing the idea of searching for the perfect indie band to flutter out of my desperate grasp.
I guess in a way, most of our all time favorite genres of music has gone the way of Elvis Prestley: gone, but there's always going to be some dedicated to its past. I do understand that people care more about making loads of money rather than just love of the game, but if you sacrifice your creative freedom just for fame and fortune, you end up being the guy that just does what he's paid to do until someone better comes along...a tool, if you will. And do we really want legends to die like that? I know some may disagree that rap music at that age has promoted gang violence and crime, but to me, it inspires: like a war story told by an old man, you learn what life was like for these people. How someone who lived his life with nothing and told the world his story with music, and indeed, became a legend in the industry.
