I do love my 360 controller. Perfect fit with my hands. I really like the resistance or whatever you'd call it with the analog sticks. They give a great feel of control and accuracy in my opinion when playing. I do miss one aspect of the analog sticks thats been missing since the N64 days though. it seems no matter how much i play and use the heck out of my controllers I just can't seem to get that white powder residue that used to line the side on my N64 analog stick....I miss that stuff, especially the grainy feel I would get when I tried to use the stick with any sort of finesse or touch....I miss the white residue... Bring it back next gen! Now!

People actually watch that show?DementedDragon

No kidding..I randomly watched a few minutes of it a few days ago on Cartoon Network (i didn't even know "Naruto" was its name until I saw those pictures...) and it looked laughingly awful. Anime...weird stuff... As I watched, I could actually feel myself becoming a virgin again.

But let me get this straight. Altruistic, empathetic people who have an overall corcern and a deep compassion for the general well-being of society disgust you? I'm not "Johnny TakeRightsAway" here, buddy. I'm not trying to get all our phones tapped dude. I'm just voicing my opinion. I believe my opinion has merit, and has everyones best interests in mind for all people from all walks of life. Whoa, continue to be "disgusted", I'll focus my energy on more positive and productive things...

[QUOTE="WhoaNellie32"][QUOTE="snyper1982"][QUOTE="WhoaNellie32"][QUOTE="Michael85"]

In the dark ages, there were public hangings and beheadings that everyone, children included, saw. Miraculously....we survived.

snyper1982

If the basic survival of our species is the sole justification for allowing these types of images to be socially acceptable than you are correct, in your own delusional naive sort of way... If you look back on ancient Rome, people were forced to maliciously fight to the death against their fellow man, animals, etc. for the sake of other people's entertainment. Bloodsport has been a perdominant force throughout human existance in nearly every culture, as have many forms of immorality. However, one would hope a level-headed person would not use the barbaric example of the past to justify their destructive ways today. One would hope that we are at a point in our human existance where we can learn from the past, recognize it, and realize the destructiveness it caused societies in the past. One would hope that in our advanced state we could understand the ramifications these senseless images produce, and actively abstain from them. One would hope....

One would hope that any level headed person would see that disagreement, does mean the other side is wrong. One would hope that we are at a state where people can have the freedom to buy and do as they please, as long as they do not harm their fellow man. One would also hope that fellow gamers, would NOT be calling for the banning of certain games deemed immoral by THEIR values, as that will create a precident for banning OTHER games that they may enjoy. One would hope....

We have learned from the past. Now we do it in a virtual world where no one is really hurt. Much less mess to clean up then.... :)

"Freedom" is an ambiguous, subjective word. People have been arguing the definition of that word all day. You just quoted "where people have the freedom....do as they please..." Extreme individualism at its finest. Its disgusting. If you read one sentence of what i've written before you'll know I have not implied whatsoever that this game should be "banned." If this is what gets your jollies off fine. I just think its socially irresponsible to be making it in the first place, but I'm not going to be joining the mothers on the picket line protesting this game. Its just another sad instance of where this society is headed.

I think its a great idea to just push the envelope as far we can just to see where that point really is....Great idea. Great idea.

Don't get me started about my particular morals in relation to anyone elses. I seriously doubt they are much different than most, and I can guarentee you that they are not unfounded. I doubt you've ever studied this subject or had enough introspection to seriously ask yourself these difficult questions without first worrying how it relates to you playing the next cutting-edge video game... Furthermore, for you to shroud this argument and accuse me of being "anti-video game" because of a possible negative ripple-effect precident you feel it would cause is ridiculous. This issue goes a lot deeper than just video games, pal.

HAHAHAHA! You are a hypocrite, plain and simple. You find it "socially irresponsible" to make this game, so in essence, you don't agree with it being made. There is no getting around that. Just because you will not be going out of your way to get the game pulled does not mean you agree with it being made. It is also funny how you left out the most important part of my freedom to do as they please comment. As long as they do not harm their fellow man. That is a biggy. People like you disgust me.

First off, I left that particular part of your quote out because it did not pertain whatsoever to the point I was making and I deamed it expendable. Must I write absolute novels to all these ridiculous uneducated comebacks covering every single one of my bases because someone is obviously going to be unable to properly make the correct assumptions inbetween the unwritten lines? I won't. I for one had a lovely holiday. Good friends, good food, lots of drinks, saw my girlfriend accidently fall in a kiddy pool with a plate full of cookies....I've had an enjoyable day....laughed my butt off... I don't feel like reiterating anymore what I've been saying. There is no hypocrisy in what I've written, and you are making unfounded assumptions in what I'm writing. I believe a person can disagree with something and provide a thoughtful intelligent reason as to why he/she feels in this manner. I don't think its a healthy direction for our society to be heading. Sorry, I don't. However, I just don't get riled up to the point where I think I should take physical action towards preventing it from being made (e.i. the picket comment). I don't have the time nor the energy for that. Is that a contradiction? I don't think so. I've talked to great extent in previous posts as to why, based on tangible evidence, this "do as they please as long as it doesn't hurt their fellow man" argumentpertaining to material such as this game is very flawed because in essence you can not control the inevitable backlash of extreme interactive violence on potentially susceptible people, as well as the impact of this material's effect on this "fringe" person and how they use this on the innocent bystander (who, need I remind you has their own personal freedoms they value themselves. Such as to not be harmed at the expense of an extremely disturbed individual). Please, immediately go to your fridge and nuke that tv dinner wasting away in your freezer to get your blood/sugar levels back in check. Maybe then you'll return to a rational minded person who understands that ABSOLUTE complete personal freedom is impossible, and ultimately the greater well-being is that of society as a whole that which makes existance as we know it possible. Extreme individualism at its finest....an impossible ideology.

[QUOTE="WhoaNellie32"]I love Apple. I own a iMac G4 and a macbook. For my core interests, their programs and layout really provide me with the most straight forward and accessible means to doing the various creative things I like to do (I love iLife, especially GarageBand). However, it sucks for gaming and I pretty much conceded when I bought them that any sort of worthwile gaming wasn't going to be done. When I think gaming, I never think of Mac, and I'd much rather like to see a contendor enter the console arena that has a really solid firsty-party development base- like Sega. A company thats focus is on games and gamers and less on trying to make their system an all-in-one media hub in my opinion. not having to deal with viruses and annoying Norton Anti-Virus subscription expired windows popping up every 10 minutes is nice too...but i'm lazy, and the exact opposite of compuetr-savvy.NobuoMusicMaker

Welcome, worm.

1) Macs are straightfoward because there's nothing else to do with the limited amount of programs.
2) Macs don't have viruses because the userbase is too small to harrass, so even if Macs become more popular, you'll face viruses whichever way.

Ok? I could care less, apple and their creative software have worked for me, maybe someone who is more into computers might prefer a pc, but you're not going to get me riled up over a computer loyalty discussion.:lol:They don't have virus' now, I've never gotten one, the screen has never frozen on me or been forced to quit because the "system is not responding...", they've been extremely reliable for me. Little things like that are what I've really enjoyed from my mac. Its my personal preference.
Worm? Man, you give a guy credit for coming up with one clever thing and he takes it and beats it into the ground. I seriosuly doubt anyone who had as little interest in computers as I do would have any sort of name in the first place. Wow, get a life buddy...

In response to your psychology picture and the "ten new diseases to think you have"....if you're a hypocondriac I guess you'd be right... do you suffer from various forms of psycho-somatic symptoms? You know, a combination of cognitive and behavioral therapy can help you out with that...

If life worked like that where indisputable evidence could form direct conclusions that a+b=c then I guess you'd be happy that your demand would prove impossible. Unfortunatley, life does not work like that. There is something called a "variable", and in any given study responsible psychologists understand that any one of many many different variables (or more often a combination of many variables...)might have led to a certain outcome for an individual. What you're asking for is completely unrealistic. However, psychological studies go to great lengths in controlling these outside variables and providing neutral envirnoments for their test subjects to get the most accurate results. Despite how you may feel, these studies are under intense scrutiny within the psychological community in the first place before they are even published or made public, and the fact that so many studies have pointed to these violent games increasing anger in test subjects is pretty well respected. These test have been found reliable and valid. No one game is going to directly cause an already instable person to inflict destruction on others. However, I'd say some pretty distinguished tests and common knowledge would acknowledge it can be a contributing factor. Point not made. Maybe in an alternative reality, like the one you live in...
