[QUOTE="ShaineTheNerd"][QUOTE="BigBoss255"] What unique features does X1 have that appeal to you as a gamer?BigBoss255
Cloud computing, 100 percent dedicated servers for all games, the ability for constant (background) updates -- see "Sunset Overdrive". What can PS4 do that the X1 can't game wise?

What an embarrassing answer. PS4 can do cloud computing and has a chip dedicated to background updates, does X1 have that? So you would rather have make believe power coming from "teh cloud" instead of a console with PS4's specs? What a joke, at least come up with something plausible and say that Kinect or TV appeal to you.

The PS4's controller sucks. :)

:lol: what a fvcking trainwreck Xbone is. Anybody who actually buys this system has been dropped on their head too many times.

Lol, you've got as an avatar a multi-millionaire that you've never met and whom could care less if you get hit by a car tomorrow. Yet you wanna talk about people getting dropped on their heads. :)

[QUOTE="Douevenlift_bro"]Either way you silce it 50% more powerful is quite the understatement. He doesn't realize by that token the X1 is as powerful as a PS3 or slightly more powerful

LOL.

Douevenlift_bro

Wait a minute, lol. I'm not even sure what you're trying to say anymore. If you go with 250 gflops as a baseline for current gen, and I accept that figure, then PS4 would be 7X as powerful as the current gen and Xbox One would be 5X as powerful as the current gen. Both of those estimates are way, way over your 50% better claim.

Lol 50% isn't my claim. Ask 'blackace". He thinks PS4 is only 50% more powerful than PS3

Well, whomever's claim it is it's wrong, lol. Like I said I started getting confused about what you meant.

Douevenlift_bro

It's not 10X but is around 7X if you go by Epic Game's estimates which say that current gen consoles are in the neighborhood of being 250 gflops machines.

The PS4 is like 10X stronger than the PS3.

That was fake.

Was it? Hmm, Tomentos was claiming a similar thing for Vita. Don't know if that really happened or not either. I don't have Wii U or Vita and never considered buying either so I don't follow news for them.

It's impossible to increase the clock speed of the WiiU's CPU by 2GHZ because of it's design,

Yeah, I didn't read the article. He said it got an increase and I just took his word for it that it did.

There won't be any upclocks after a year or two. Once you've shipped your first unit that's it; the specs are locked in stone ... except for maybe really basic stuff like lessening your OS footprint.

super600

Ill be the first to admit that I'm wrong, but didn't the WiiU receive an upclock via firmware upgrade? Obviously it's not massive and yes the biggest changes will be pulling back the OS usage of RAM via updates. http://www.vg247.com/2013/05/10/wii-u-latest-system-update-has-increased-cpu-gpu-speed-rumour/

[QUOTE="Mystery_Writer"]

PS4 is supposed to have 50% raw performance advantage over X1?

If that's the case MS now narrowed that gap by 6%. That puts X1 at 44% less powerful.

I guess the right reaction to this is; try harder MS.

blackace

Oh, c'mon. The PS4 isn't just 50% more powerful than PS3. If you go by flops it's around 7X as powerful.

Edit: And btw, I'm going by Epic's estimation that current gen consoles are basically 250 gflops machines. Yes, I'm aware that Sony claims higher figures than that for PS3 but because of the inefficiency of Cell it really never did much more than 250 gflops.

[QUOTE="LordOfPoms"]So basically it boils down to this. PS4 GPU @ 800MHz 1.84 TFLOPS 57,600 MTex/s 25,600 MPix/s 176GB/s Xbox One GPU @ 853MHz 1.31 TFLOPS 40,944 MTex/s 13,648 MPix/s 68GB/s + eSRAM Wouldn't be surprised to see both systems receive another set of upclocks in a year or two.tormentos

The PSP was locked at 233mhz at launch,then increase to 266mhz and ultimately to 333mhz,take that as you will.

Yeah, the days of putting updates onto discs slipped my mind. I was already reminded (Or schooled, if ya wanna rub it in my face) of it when someone mentioned an upclock for Wii U.

Hmm, I don't follow Wii U news cuz it sucks, lol. But if they did that ... whoa ... we're living in different times indeed. OK then, forget my comment, lol. In the past companies didn't do that sort of thing. Seems strange to me though cuz if you're gonna raise your clock after the fact then what about the guys that own the older version and don't have an internet connection to grab the update? Hmm, I guess ya could maybe throw the update onto every disc ya make after the change. Still, that's an unusual kind of move.
