@7tizz: Extra value is great but this backwards compatibility thing is getting a bit ridiculous. They could be spending their time making actual new games and instead they have to re-engineer existing games to appease people who could just have a 360 and have all the choice and compatibility of native supporting hardware.

@he4rtl3ss: Sure. You can get them for less than the cost of a new game now with a little shopping around.

If you can afford an Xbox One and can't afford an Xbox 360, your priorities are simply screwed up.

So get a cheap, used 360 and then you can play ANY Xbox 360 game instead of just the curated list of specifics that you're forced to download the entirety of to play even though you have the disc in the system, needlessly wasting drive space.

This just in: Marketing exec says you should buy product he markets.

Is this really the standard for reporting these days?

In other news, water is wet. Where do I collect my salary?

Easier solution:

If you want to keep playing Xbox 360 games, keep your Xbox 360. 100% compatibility with Xbox 360 games! No updates required!

The same goes for PS3.

If you don't have enough space for them or you sold them, I guess that's your problem.

Full, eternal backwards compatibility would be nice I suppose but that requires generally that they either include the previous console's hardware in the new console and drive the price up or they never update their physical architecture and hold back the hardware's progress.

You can't please all the people all the time but this whole situation sounds to me like people are just throwing away all their kitchen knives because they got a chainsaw and now are upset they can't cut their steaks.

@DrunkenPunk800: At least they didn't forget to clear out the chipmunk voices this time.

@excelsion: I fail to see how the distribution of the nation matters. Germany is 16 states.

And I'm pretty sure 94.6% is less than 100%.

@grimcrotch: That image kills me.

"We enjoy video games."

"Yes, video games are what we enjoy."

@fiskamat4: It's off topic but I'm applying perspective anyway:

EU = 28 nations and 508 million people.

USA = 1 nation and 322 million people

So 63.3% of the number of people managed 94.6% the revenue.

@graphxninja: Basically. See my other reply in this thread. Or just check their track record here:

They're utterly worthless.
