@corny: Having worked at Gamestop in my younger years, that is doing them a favor. It's a dead end job where they treat you like garbage, give you terrible hours and you get no real benefits. At least that's how it was back when the company was successful, so I imagine now they prod you into the crawlspace after hours with a sharp stick and throw Arby's wrappers and Mountain Dew Code Red in to keep you alive.

Aaaand it's gone.

Thanks GameStop for once again disappointing everyone in a thoroughly consistent and awful manner.

I'll never forget when you moved into my relatively small town and took down every last family owned game store then started offering worse service in every way with bloated prices and terrible selection.

GameInformer may have ended up being a walking ad (much like this Spoonerism of a site), but I still discovered a lot of my favorite franchises through its pages. I'll never forget first seeing Earth Defense Force 2017 in a little 1/8th page panel with three postage stamp sized screenshots and a single paragraph of text. I rushed to GameStop and the guy working behind the counter gave me quite the look after pulling one of the two copies of the game they had gotten out. I took it home, enjoyed it thoroughly and called a friend who went and got the other copy, and just recently we started into EDF6.

And now you sit there in that same location you've always been, Gamestop, unmoving and useless, like a tumor in remission, barely stocking any games but Fifa and CoD, festooned with hideous Funko Pop toys, I haven't crossed the threshold of your door in years and yet you remain, preventing any better option from popping up.

May every member of your board develop a softball sized boil on each cheek.

Addendum: It's truly a shame that you've squandered the second and third chances you've been given through stock market shenanigans, Gamestop, I do hope they let your business fail now. Not because of this specifically but it does go to show you haven't learned anything.
