I'm still not sure if I should buy an extra 2 gigs of RAM, since 32 bit Vista can't recognize more that much.
The other day Iwas running an antivirus scan, burning a DVD and listening to music at the same time. My whole 2 gigs of memory was used up and my system was slowed right down. My dual core processor was barely used, but my RAM was maxed out.
I could obviously use more memory, but what's the point if Windows won't use it?
But, generally I think the danger is overhyped.d-rtyboy
I agree. I don't know anyone who has fried a component with static and I've been in this business a long time. But I also agree it's best to be cautious. The possibility of danger is there.
I've been using AMD/ATI systems for6-7 years. I've always liked AMD CPU's because they've been good performers and cost significantly less than Intel chips. But now, Intel doesn't have any real competition with its new processors. AMD's price/performance index just isn't what it used to be.
As for Nvidia vs ATI, I don't have a preference. I bought an Nvidia this time because I knew it was a good performer and ATI hadn't released itsnew serieswhen I was ready to upgrade.
