Gamestop will just compensate for it by giving even less money for your games. Do you really think they will just take the hit, roll over and say, "Oh well". Heck no. They are going to stick it to their customers. If they are going to lose 25% of what they made last gen, they are going to offer you 25% less than what they would have offered last gen. It is that simple. Besides, the cut will not be huge, because Microsoft will gladly tap into the used market.

@walidras Sounds like a pricey laptop. You could probably build a desktop that is way better with the same cash. Just sayin....

@TriggerManX97 I suppose you are very judicious with your game selections then. I am very selective on which games I buy for PC because the used market is practically non existent. I will take a gamble on games that are 75% off or more on Steam, but new....has to be a winner for sure.

If this is true, or something close to it, the prices for used games at Gamestop and other places won't change all that much. What will change however, is the already ludicrous offers that these retailers offer you for your games to make up for the difference in profits that would now be lost to Microsoft and the game publishers. Good luck getting more than 5-10 dollars for a game that is only 1 month old.

Seems like overkill unless you have a multi-monitor setup, or are running games at higher than 1080p. I don't even think I would buy this card with my old 1200p monitor. At least maybe now I might be able to snag a 680 for cheap (relative to this card) sometime soon.

@starjay009 Frame rates and CTDs are usually issues with the software, not the hardware. If it is the hardware, that can usually be remedied by a driver update, or a hardware upgrade. I really don't see that many disadvantages to PC gaming as long as you know how to maintain a healthy PC.

@ssj2los I don't even know that you would really notice the difference between 60fps, and 120fps. If you could play at 500fps, I am pretty sure the human eye would still see the same as if it were 60fps.

So what is the deal with the 24 hour period? That seems like a pretty lame compromise between always online, and never online. Does this mean that your single player game becomes unplayable if you don't check for updates every 24 hours, or you lose your game progress? What the hell? There seems to be something shady going on here, just not sure what exactly.

Guess what? You don't have to design around used or 2nd hand optical drive discs being accepted or not. They are either read by the drive, or they aren't. Blu Ray drives aren't specifically designed to accept movies from Netflix because they go through so many hands and devices, they just read the damn discs. So, to say something like "people should know that it is a design criteria for us on the new box", clearly indicates that there is some sort of recognition system, be it game keys, or some other way of determining the difference between new or old discs to the consumer. Buyer beware, they are already warning you now, while making it sound like they are on your side regarding second hand software. Just remember, the Kinect is going to be spying on you too.

@LEGOslayer That is sort of what Metacritic is for. Though movies don't garner as much hatred as games do with consumers. Some people give games a 0 even if they don't play it, and others blindly give games a 10. Honestly, people get too tied up in the scores anyway IMO. Everyone seems to forget the opinion that matters most. Your own.
