TF2 isn't Counter-Strike. It's supposed to be a loosy-goosy pub game. Crits are fun. CTF from my experience is far from a sniper war or engineer turtle. I think TF2 is going through a poor time right now though. While the unlockables might seem like a great thing to some, it alienates the people who don't keep up with the game all the time and they feel behind.GodLovesDeadOne thing I will say is that the unlockables weren't that desirable for the most part until the scout update. Their upgrades are a little overpowered right now but valve will readjust pretty quick.

I think it will cost too much. they may have developed it for years but testing on a mass scale is quite different. The bottom line is that the processing still has to be done and that costs someone money. It you don't do the heavy lifting on your computer you will be paying someone else to and that is bound to be tremendously expensive. I have said before that mmo's charge $15/month and do relatively little processing. To really run crysis on high you will have to pay the equivalent of of a machine that can run it plus onlives profits.
Actually the biggest advantage of DX10 is performance over DX9. The graphics are only marginally better but DX10 allows shaders to process vertexes and pixels as necessary and this makes the DX10 format much more efficient. Also while the majority of pc's still use XP, the majority of gamers do not. The bigger point is that the world of technology is evolving and you need to keep up if you want access to all games. There are really very few DX9 cards left that will be powerful enough for the next generation of games. The game is DX10 only.....Even thoe its out on 360 and PS3.....Epic Fail. Why do developers do this? Dx10 is worthless really. Almost everything you could do in dx10 could have been done in dx9 and with better performance. And the majority are still using Windows xp, and their are still people out their with only dx9 cards!
