Well they are both good but quite different. there is no question gta4 is the better value. Fear 2 was only about 10 hours. GTA had some big performance issues on release but I believe those have been resolved so I would probably recommend that unless you want fear for online multiplayer.

The longest journey series is a great one. The sequel "Dreamfall" came out a few years a go. Secret Files Tanguska was also very good. I like the Silent Hill series as well. The third came out a few years ago and I believe the next one may have come out now or soon. As far as funny ones like sam and max or grim fandango, I can't really think of any others that are new.

[QUOTE="krazyorange"]Step 1: Don't pirate games Step 2: Buy the game on Steam or at the store

This. whenever I see people wanting language files piracy is the first thing that pops into my mind. The fact that its russian (the piracy capital of the world) only confirms this. Try buying the game next time from steam, walmart, or bestbuy and as if by magic it will be in a language you can understand.

in your box on the back of the manual or a piece of paper if you bought the boxed version. If you bought it off steam, then they gave it to you at purchase.

do you have a graphics card or just an integrated chip? I would be worried it might not run at all if you have an integrated graphic processor. Having said that if you could get it to run I don't think it would lag at normal speed with a normal amount of soldiers. Of course the majority of the game is turn based where it doesn't matter anyway.

I never played the expansions but in general they didn't get good reviews adn took the story off on a tangent. Fear by itself is a great game and of course the sequel is out now and has gotten pretty good reviews too.

What type of server do you want to play on? Also where in the world are you? For the US, Lotus has good 24/7 map servers, No Heroes are also good. For custom maps I recommend either the Jiggly's Fun House.net servers or the Feared Gamers Custom Server [75.126.214.209:27016]. The later isn't always as full but has a really good group that plays.

So the message is "If you're holding out for Windows 7 instead of moving from XP, you'd be just as well off splashing on an expensive copy of Vista right now".

It is a pretty nasty way to screw those who bought Home Basic.

Oh, and be sure to read the small print: "Note: PCs must be purchased during the Program Eligibility Period, which does not yet appear to have been publicly disclosed."

I think you are misunderstanding Microsoft's intent. Vista basic was only designed for systems with specs that were too low to utilize the aero interface. The assumption is that if you have vista basic you probably don't have a computer that could run windows 7 with ease. They aren't trying to cut you out of anything. They just want to support machines that have a high likelihood of being compatible. Keep in mind Microsoft is currently being sued by the US and EU over the vista compatible issue and they don't want another misstep like that.
