well lets see here fox is owned by the same news sources as CNN and PBS and NBC i believe we can safely call them all trash tabloids as CNN is the pinnacle of this. the others follow suit because they know it sells and add/subtract a few stories to add variation. its not hard to notice this go watch em all at once and right down the topics they discuss you will find them almost identical to the next.aura_enchanted
Wow. This is really stupid. Fox is owned by a media conglomerate controlled by rupert murdoch. NBC is owned by GE. CNN is owned by with cbs as mostly private equity. and PBS is of course made by the american government and not owned by anyone. Furthermore, I haven't heard many people say CNN and Fox cover the same stories or cover them in the same way.

Greater burden, will use more of your cards features.nutcrackr
wrong. You can turn on or off the features you want of course. It actually increases the efficiency of your card by combining the vertex and pixel shaders. This means that instead of splitting it 40/60 or 50/50 between the two and then maxing out one first, you have full flexibility to use them shaders as needed.

graphic cards tend to be forward compatible to some degree. DX 10 featured a different architecture which is why the old dx9 cards weren't compatible.

haven't tried it but I am curious too. It's not very expensive though so it might be worth a try but last time I looked they were all sold out.

personally, i like the direction the industry is taking right now -- going mainstream is the only way to appeal to the majority, which promises maximum profit. and money is really the only thing that keeps the show going. let's face it....entertainment business has never had much room for niche market.

that said, i still welcome the effort from the niche devs. just becoz i'm not playing something doesn't mean it's bad and should exist.

This isn't true. Doing something innovative is the way to profit. The majority is saturated with mediocre fps and sports games. The best selling video game of all time (on any platform) isn't available on any console is the Sims 2. Thats because everyone thought that its was a niche market but in reality the female and casual gaming segments are the less saturated and both segments are almost exclusively pc segments (at least until the wii came out they were). There is plenty of money to be made in the pc market but not by doing the same thing over and over.

I don't remember for sure but I bet the support page is a different account than the actual steam application. I would make a new account on the support page and then ask for help referencing your account name and email address in your question.

First make sure you have the latest graphic drivers. I don't remember all the things you can turn off in far cry but turn off any particle effects such as weather. Turn off shadows and water reflections. Turn off AA and and the Antialistroping thing. See if this fixes it and then start adding things back until you figure out what's causing it.

only for a limited time and that was up a long time ago. You can buy it off steam for $10 and its worth every penny.
