This is the sad thing about pc gaming. Specs aren't clear,. A 1.8 quad is not the same as a 2.4 dual cpu even though it seems like it should be. They support a 2900 and 3400 series chip but not a 3200 series. I understand the posters frustration. On the other hand if you have a marginal system you know you are taking a risk buying a fairly demanding game like fallout 3. Its not bethedsa's fault because they did warn you on the box albeit in small hard to understand print. And the poster says no one feels responsible when he surely is at least partly if not mostly to blame. We really need a better system to determine game stability for a given system.

well I have gold and have never had any issues with it. I also have a quite a bit better graphic card though. Personally I don't the the expansion added that much so if I were you I might just stick with the original. Having said that though usually these issues do get resolved but I don't know about this specific one.

I have basically the same system as you raze and it does have long load times. Its not something defragmenting is going to help. If you are on a custom server where it is downloading the maps that can take quite a bit longer. Also try to find low latency servers. Other that though it usually takes me a minute or two to load a server.

with a 2.3 ghz dual core you should be fine for awhile. Your system should be able to run anything out right now at some level.

how much do you want to spend? Also we would need to know what your mobo is to know what type of slots you have and what chipset you have.

that is just not true on several parts. It is easy to screw up your part if you aren't absolutely careful. Static can destroy any part. Waranties are with multiple companies and if your PSU surges and takes out your mothe4rboard neither the psu company nor the mobo company will cover it
