Wow - you're an idiot if you believe that. I say it's in the 4 to 7% range. They only surveyed a mere couple thousand people out of what, twelve million Xbox 360 owners?Stevo_the_gamer
Most Lemmings quote about these numbers, some say 3-5%. But that means about 1 in 25 consoles break. THAT IS A BIG DEFECTIVE RATE, for any kind of product.

By these definitions, you can only be hardcore if you skip school or unemployed. Either way, it does not seem to be something to be proud of.

Make them play "barnyard" 7x24 after the first 24 hours, I am sure they will commit suicide.

I already now about the whole Mac x86 crap. I have a 20" iMac with 2gigahertz Core Duo, there is a reason that Macs are still used for high end professional video, sound and picture editing. When it comes to price (yes there are way more expensive for what you get) but most business's don't care about that, they either rent or buy (tax deductable) A couple of grand is neither here nor there, I am currently helping build a recording studio (it is a business) and the owner/Head sound engineer wants a Mac. One of the main reasons is that it is all built with proprietary parts, meaing this sound card is not gonna have issues with this motherboard and so-on.

F-Minus

You see, this is the stupidity of people. He want's a MAC because he is affraid of hardware conflicts. I however understand his decision as said, Mac OS X isn't legaly available for the PC market, thus the audio tools would be of no use for him on a PC. However the hardware conflict he's scared of is just a myth. I haven't had a hardware conflict problem in my PCs since 1990, now we have decent standards, only drivers may botcher up, bur really rarely,

However people should really stop the crap how Mac still outperforms a normal PC nowdays. As mentioned above, the most powerful Mac PRO is a dual CPU system with 16GB ram support. The PC market offers 50% more power as the most powerful Mac at the moment of cheaper prices. So the answer lies on the hand, even with software optimisations on Mac OS X, for example Adobe Photoshop will run better and faster ona a Quad CPU PC as opposed to a Dual CPU Mac Pro machine - it's a no brainer.

The famous days of the Mac are over. It's an x86 machine and the top of the line offering isn't really top of the line. QuadroFX 512MB wheres the 1GB or 1.5GB version? Actually if I remember correctly they're offering QuaddroFX 4500, which is the lowest possible QuadroFX card available. Wheres the ATI FireGL? Does it support SLI?

And it's as you said, a company wont really bother if they overpay the Mac, sadly they wont even go into comparing prices vs. performance, and this is sad and macs last breaths. I work for a design studio, and we had macs in the past, but we gladly exchanged them for PC. Price to performance ratio clearly showed that we wont loose much if anything if we run our applications on the PC. Now let me tell you, even in the old days, the performance boost you got when you had a PowerMac compred to a x86 platform was really not that visible or vital if you had pretty much on par hardware in both. Tho the PPC had some nice stuff it's all gone now.

It's all about application compatibility now, and I think (i'm not on the fly on this) the sound deparment is the only thing they got monopoly still on. As said above, a PC can easily outperform the most powerful Mac in Adobe applications - not that it's needed tho.

I agree totally, the old age myth that Macs are more reliable and great for DTP (desktop publishing) and graphics are no longer true. It may have been that way 10 years ago, but not today. Out company used to use Macs and Quark Express, now it's all PCs they are much cheaper both in initial cost and also to upgrade. Macs have really lost its edge and for the price/performance you cannot beat a PC. BTW, Macs do crash and Macs have viruses as well.

http://www.gwn.com/news/story.php/id/12409/Nintendo_To_Increase_Wii_Supply.html

Wii sales are to hit 20 Million+ by April 08, surpassing the 360 installed base sometime in the next 12 months. Nintendo has ramped up Wii production to meet demand and counter analysts predictions that the Wii will remain scarce until 2009. Instant sell-through is now predicted to last through only August, though a massive pick up is expected in December as a slew of original first party and third party titles hit for Christmas, perhaps cementing Wii's status as generation-leader.

ps3-nikita

You mean they have found more GC to recycle, damn. Well done Nintendo, I knew you could do it.

POWNED The GC outsells the 360 and PS3. No 360 shortages, no PS3 shortages. Only Wii shortages now and outselling them every month (excluding launches and special events of course). So the GC.... sorry Wii outsells the 360 and PS3.

Once at Alpha stage , and most definitely on beta stage all graphics work and coding should be finalized. The major changes after alpha would be bug fixing of code, and optimizations. In beta, bugs will be fixed, but mainly balancing. If you are changing graphics and the engine in beta, then the game is NOT ready for beta.
