I'm going to have to pick this up again. I played a bit at launch, but got distracted by other games. I put well over 500 hours into CK2 over the years, so hopefully 3 will have the same longevity.
@immanuel79: With a little analysis, it's kind of a dumb statement. Race & culture is different to political views & conspiracy theories. It's hardly "abhorrent" though. It's a misunderstanding or misrepresentation of history, but I think it's pretty clear there was no anti-semitic intent.
The problem is that most people seem to have completely missed what was at the heart of her statement - beyond the poorly phrased comparisons. Shutting down public conversation rather than engaging with different ideas & debating them rationally only divides people further. People should be allowed to have dumb ideas & other people should be allowed to tell them why those ideas are dumb.
By calling for her firing, the woke masses have only caused her to double down & her followers now see themselves as more oppressed. They haven't shut her mouth, they've just given her reason to scream louder.
I'm still working my way through Valhalla, so it will be nice to see some bug fixes but I don't know if I really care about some extra raids. I'll check them out, but the last thing this game needs is more filler content.
Removing the diamond runes seems a bit harsh. There's already a lot of collecting in the game that just ends up sitting in inventory, not doing much. Having only one diamond rune equipped at a time just means even more of these things will never get used.
Probably 98% of my gaming time is spent on single player games. I play a little bit of co-op with friends now & then & competitive multiplayer doesn't really interest me at all.
Personally, I haven't been super impressed wit the last couple of offerings from Rockstar, but I'm glad they're still making single player experiences that many are enjoying. GTA Online seems like an online casino for people who are not old enough to enter real casinos. I can find ways to hang with my friends without having microtransactions shoved down my throat. If they want to use their single player titles to onboard me into their card pack system, they can forget it.
I subbed to EA play for a couple of months because there were a few titles I wanted to play. During that time, I also checked out a couple of smaller games, like Unraveled, that had been on my watch list for a while but I'd never gotten around to buying.
I think sub services can make it more likely for gamers to take a chance on indie or shorter games. But yeah, devs should know how they're getting paid.
