Imagine a world where you're just born with a race & gender & you have to deal with it! Ridiculous! How dare a game developer come up with such an idea!
@Lach0121: I agree. If you can't play a game without constantly being taken out of the experience with framerate hitches, sluggish controls & unfair deaths due to the game bugging out, then it's best to just pretend it's not even out yet.
Some games get fixed with patches or even mods over time but it looks like the UWP platform has crippled the game & many of it's performance flaws are baked in. There are plenty of other games that are actually in a playable state that I can spend my time & money on.
I remember beginning Uncharted 2, hanging off the end of a train on the edge of a snowy cliff. It felt like I was in a Bond movie. That's a hard opening to beat.
In contrast, The Last Of Us actually had a pretty slow opening. We had all seen the marketing, we knew the Cordyceps apocalypse was coming & any emotion in those opening moments felt forced. It was later on that the game earned a true emotional response from players as the bond between Joel & Ellie developed.
Perhaps my memory is betraying me about the opening of those games but either way, I don't think it's good to overhype Uncharted 4. I'm sure its strengths will show on their own.
Wow, that's terrible. More proof that no matter how many times MS comes out & says they're committed to PC gaming, they do nothing but lip service.
I was kind of keen to give this game a try but it looks like they've done such a horrible botch up of this port that it will never be playable. Here's hoping this is the death knell for core games on UWP. It's clearly an inferior platform that makes games objectively worse.
WHAAAAT?!? You can't believe everything you read in unqualified rumours & leaks?
That's it! I'm going to write a very strongly worded letter to the CEO of The Internet to voice my complaints about this! I'm beginning to think that multiple websites post this unverified information for no other reason than to get more hits, solely to collect ad revenue rather than researching their sources as true journalists should. I am shocked & appalled! I expected more from The Internet.
To reiterate my predictions from when FB first bought out Oculus:
They'll use the same model as facebook. At first they don't harvest any data, they make a nice friendly platform where you can interact with all your friends, play games & look at pretty images. Once they hit critical mass, once all your friends are already using it, then they start changing the EULA.
I do find it funny that all the people here are freaking out in outrage after they've just expressly said they're not harvesting data. The outrage is that they might in future which means nothing has changed since the news that Oculus got bought out all those months ago. If you actually purchased a Rift, knowing that facebook owned the company, but are just getting pissed off now... I don't what to say to you.
