@CyrenII BL2 definitely fun to co-op but you'll likely miss a lot of story & dialogue.
It's great fun combining powers & a huge advantage to have another 3 players around to save you in Fight For Your Life but it makes it hard to sort your loot when other people are waiting on you.
In short - it's fun if you can find a friend but you can definitely play solo. Maybe have another character (pick a different class) that you only play co-op so you don't level differently when playing apart.
(Edit) I played BL1 solo - it's an OK game but not nearly as much fun.
Seeing a fully rendered trailer is different to seeing gameplay footage.
With Watch Dogs we saw gameplay & it looked awesome. Then we saw a gameplay trailer with PS4 footage & it looked much worse. Then we saw a trailer showing a little of what it will look like on a high end PC & it looked much better. Watch Dogs is still a title I can be confident enough in to place a pre-order. If you pre-ordered Dead Island based solely on the trailer without looking at any gameplay footage, then you've only got yourself to blame.
Free to play is a horrible model for many types of games. Hearthstone works OK - that's a game I probably wouldn't have bought, but now I've given them a grand total of $2.99. Well done Blizzard, you have almost three dollars of my money... maybe more when they bring out the quests.
For most single player RPGs for example, free to play would ruin the progression model, encourage ridiculous grinding & mean that many people won't play more than a few hours of the game.
FTP mobile games can live in their own little world & reap their success on scamming a few whales out of their cash, but 'real' games will continue on a different model, thanks.
@Dannystaples14 @LordCrash88 Uplay does have an issue with occasionally completely corrupting your save game with it's cloud storage system, so it's kind of an issue. It happened to both me & a friend in two separate games months apart, I'm not sure if it's something they've resolved yet.
@SaintsRowLA A cell shaded Jess would be a great quest giver. She could send you to find news & then mock you for your crappy news stories when you return.
