Quantum Break & Control were both pretty 'meh' for me. I've heard good things about this game, but I have a feeling that it won't be my jam. If it's on Game Pass, I might give it a try.
Is there a separate review for "last gen" which apparently PC is part of? They're asking full price for nothing but a roster update. I refuse to pay anything for this on PC.
I remember that Wolverine game that released as a movie tie-in years ago. The storytelling was abominable. It basically jumped between a bunch of different scenes from the Origins film, so that if you hadn't actually seen the film, it wouldn't make any sense at all. The actual gameplay was alright though. There was some really visceral hacking & slashing, which was fun.
I'm not sure how a modern take would go, but I hope they keep the violence. Wolverine's claws are made to tear flesh & sever limbs. If we don't get to see a bit of that, I'll be disappointed.
@chubby170: I literally don't understand. 60fps should be the bare minimum standard for any game that involves some kind of action. More faster = more better.
I heartily disagree with this review. I'm something like 10+ hours in & the difficulty hasn't been a problem. There are a few areas you can wander into where enemies are a much higher level, but that's what you get with video games that have enemy levels. Turn around or spawn back back to the reasonably generous auto save. I've actually found the difficulty a very fair challenge for the most part.
I don't think you can oversell just how beautiful this game is. The visuals are everything you expect from a cyberpunk game. The endless urban sprawl, the verticality, the corps, the rain... it's all there & it looks amazing on my rig with a 3080 & on my friend's rig with a 970. The game actually rewards exploration too. It gives you a reason to wander around these stunning environments. Co-op is fun, single player is fun. Loot is interesting. Although, stores are not that useful. The best loot is picked up in the world & making your way to a new area & finding a new weapon dealer doesn't really hold much reward at all.
The biggest drawback at the moment is the bugs. The polish is definitely lacking here. Weapon skins don't persist if you go to co-op & then back to single player. You have to hold space to acknowledge all the tutorials again every time you do something in a co-op game. Cyberdeck upgrades can be exploited by picking up the same early upgrade multiple times by playing co-op, meaning you max out your deck too soon. Ray tracing & DLSS don't work on the PC Game Pass version. Just tonnes of little annoyances, mostly to do with co-op.
I've been absolutely loving this game. If they can manage to fix the bugs, I honestly think it's a GOTY contender.
