@lionhartwolf: I've been to Zambia a couple of times & World Vision definitely have some of the nicest trucks in the country. They don't shy away from expensive colour printing on glossy paper for their mailers either.
That said, I disagree with you about giving people money directly, rather than through a charity. Well organised charities are better able to identify the people in need & they can provide better infrastructure & benefit from economies of scale. There are also problems in many countries where parents take their kids out of school to beg on the street because cute kids are more likely to attract cash. I would instead recommend spending a little time on research before you commit to any charity.
When you say, "here's how red", I want to see it next to a colour swathe or something. Give me numbers. What's it's hexadecimal value? Come on, you gotta follow through with a title like that.
Great. I have no idea why first person games have the ability to customise your character & then never show you anything except your gloves outside the menus.
If they could add a third person mode to the entire game, that would be even better... but maybe that's asking too much.
October 7? This game has been delayed a lot for an entry in a long-running series.
Hopefully that means there will be a lot of new assets & gameplay. FC5 felt pretty stale for me, I think the devs didn't trust the open world to be enough fun, so there was always some kind of chaos going on every time you just tried to drive to the next mission. They tried to distract you from how paint-by-numbers the formula had become. New Dawn was OK for a shorter non-numbered entry in the series, but still didn't do much new either. I really hope it's not just the same old jam with a new skin on it. I lived in Colombia for a bit & travelled through a lot of Latin America, so I know this subject matter is ripe with possibility if it's handled well.
I had a PS2 & a PS3, but since I moved to PC gaming, it's just too hard to go back to the limitations of underpowered consoles. 60fps should be the bare minimum for any action game & many of these titles struggled to hold a solid 30 on the PS4 hardware. I'm happy to pay Sony for their games, but I never wanted to pay them hundreds of dollars for a console that was vastly underpowered compared with putting that money towards upgrading my PC.
FemShep is best Shep, but it sounds like Hale wants a Mass Effect dating sim spinoff.
Personally I think we should leave the Shepard trilogy as-is. Andromeda had a lot of failings, but I don't think they should throw the baby out with the bath water. That universe is ripe with stories to tell, but we've seen what we need to see from those characters. Nobody needed a whole prequel movie to find out how Han Solo got his jacket & what we don't know about Garrus or Jack or Tali is maybe better left to our imaginations too. Sometimes the best part of storytelling is leaving enough gaps for the audience to fill in the gaps for themselves.
@kumatenshi: I think it's important to note here that the main debate is about the definition of censorship, not whether we think Ebay has made a good decision or not.
I think the main crux of the argument against you is that government is generally the entity that can censor things. If you were selling things in a physical market on a street & the property owner stopped you selling something, you could always set up a stall on a different street. It may be more difficult to do business, but you are not being prohibited from selling your products.
I don't want to put words in your mouth, but it seems like your main argument is that large businesses, especially monopolies, essentially have the same power as a government. If a seller is forced out of the big marketplace, they have no chance of remaining profitable, so the outcome is the same as a government banning the goods.
I see your point, but I disagree with it; I would still argue that censorship is not happening here. I buy plenty of video games & I have never bought one from Ebay, so I don't think they have a monopoly here. There are other competing game sellers... maybe you've heard of Steam? GOG, Greenman Gaming... I'm not going to list all the game retailers I know, because there are a lot of them. If sellers of AO games wanted to band together to build a new platform, they could do that too.
Maybe all of the arguments you've seen here still don't convince you, but I'd advise you to take the L on this one. Save the calls of censorship for when it's really happening. I understand the slippery slope concept, but it's also important not to cry wolf on these things.
