@comb5 I disagree to an extent. A Hardcore title is usually attributed to Maturity. darker tales usually come hand in hand with depth and new levels of immersion with story. Sony and Microsoft have titles of that calibur to no end while Nintendo has opted out for a cleaner and more family friendly approach.
That being said, it is a great path to follow but only offers temporary cheap fun. They've forgotten that us 80's and 90's kids who supported them are now in our 20's and 30's. We like our Mario and our Zelda but wheres the depth? Maybe some Starfox and F-zero? Bring those back with a deeper story and a compelling online multiplayer even? I think Retro Studios had the right idea with Metroid Prime. That's why they became so successful.
@DARKNESSxEAGLE They followed a story that was guided from the novel. Their guideline follows the railings of the book Halo: Glasslands. It wouldn't make any sense to make newer enemies, they would just be ignoring the millions of $ Microsoft expanded into expanding the story though the novel, comics and action figures after Halo 3. They need a Story that seemed logical.
@mullen1200 Economics 101. To add to what YouScareMe said, if I play Volleyball passing the ball constantly to myself. I'm gonna eventually end up dropping the ball right?. I need another player to pass the ball to. That way we can keep spiking the ball to each other. The ball gets to bounce back and forth and never get dropped.
Companies don't necessarily eliminate other companies. They buy them out then pit them against eachother like pitbulls in a cage. Then they collect the bet money.
@Serious You're absolutely right. I should "unnamed source" myself by creating a domain name called "PS42013.com" and see how fast Mr. Mackuch jumps on that story.
No wonder any self respecting corporation doesn't comment on rumor and speculation. You give the media a straight answer and 3 months later they swarm you like seagulls with the same dumb questions. Why? A little birdy told them. An ugly birdy with a big red veiny eye, hops on 1 leg and takes violin lessons from Pinocchio every thursday but a birdy none the less. Gamespot's terms of service is anti-discrimination right?
How many times does this need to become a story? Tretton already confirmed 7 times over that Sony's current gameplan doesn't include the idea of a ps4 at the moment. If recall correctly, Gamespot even published an article a couple months back quoting Tretton stating that ps3 is already fairly equipped for the next generation.
Is it just me or could this be some sort of elaborate plot to generate meaningless consumer buzz and to give Sony stocks a some booster juice.
@Gurzociurlo Here's my question and I've been pondering this for years, why does the only ocean themed Zelda game not have a fishing mechanic? You have OOT small pond fishing.... Windwaker would have been perfect. Did it have anything to do with the story? I dunno just a thought.....
The first Luigi's mansion was a great game. In my childhood years, I think it may gave been one of the first games I managed to rent and beat in a weekend, while I finished it quickly, it was bundles of fun. A sequel in HD? I'm sold...
