@joujou264 Look.....My real beef with all this is that I fell in love with XBL, I like the fact that I connected with some random dude one game, we talked strategy over the mic, we won the game, we added each other in 10 seconds, and now whenever I turn on my console, I can see what he's doing and press "join him now" from my lobby. I didn't get that from Wii, and if Wii U requires I enter codes, they'd better have that kind of interaction as well.

@moviequest14 I read the entire article so i know what im talking about.... So answer me this, what gives me the incentive to get a Wii u and all these games {me3 , trine 2 , arkham city , soon ac3 , cod , etc.} If I already played them on my 360 and ps3?

@SSL_Syn I disagree, They bombed because between 2009 and 2012, there were too far gaps between first party title releases. Not to mention they left out other winning titles like Starfox and F-zero. Instead they focused on family friendly Wii sports resort, Wii fit, Wii music etc. By the time they were ready to do what they do best, people had already lost interest, They sold out to the casual market too much.

@joujou264 .......... "A" wants to add "B" as a friend. "A" finds "B". "A" clicks on "B"'s Nintendo ID. Dropdown appears. "Add friend" option selected. "B" receives message saying "Nintendo ID "A" wants to add you as friend, do you accept?" "B" presses yes. "A" and "B" are now friends who can join parties together and enter each others games with the click of a button.

Did I have to enter a code? no.......

Nothing. I expected nothing from Microsoft and Sony at launch, I expected EVERYTHING from Nintendo after the rough couple years they had. What they had to do was so clear it was like rubbing plexiglass and Windex on your face. The fact that we didn't see other first party titles except yet another remake of smb and pikmin 3 reveal tells me they don't understand at all why the Wii bombed.

@joujou264 Which goes on to prove my point of why FC is redundant, it discourages interaction, I thought the same way as you did dude. Right up until SSBB came out and with that came hundreds of youtube videos in which people are sharing friend codes in video and in comment section

The whole point of the system is to eliminate "stranger danger" but it doesn't make any bit of sense. All it's managed to do is complicate things.

If the new system is going to make things simpler, lets say they install an "add friend" dropdown after every game without the need to share codes, then why even have codes to begin with?

@joujou264 The article confirmed "separate" interaction. The fact that the friend code system wasn't tombstoned to begin with already tells me this is going to fail. That kind of system doesn't work in 2012 and it never will.

Evolving the online system to rivaling that of ps3 and 360 was a big selling point to me. Nintendo, I'm in my 20's, I'm a big boy now. The fact that they aren't scrapping the friend code system tells me that the online system isn't going to be maturing at all in any sense of the word. I was actually looking forward to buying one on launch but now.....

If Nintendo's poor display at E3 didn't confirm it already, this sad bit of news sealed the deal. I'm hanging my Wiimote for good. Quite frankly I don't approve of the direction Nintendo is heading, While I'm all for a clean family fun image, it came at a price. It's as if they forgot how old their fanbase has become. I'm done with them, until they show me something worth while I'm skipping out on the Wii U
