@Anthrizacks Fair say. I haven't played Reach in 2012 so you were right about the armor ability removal. Although I don't really believe the death of competitive halo had too much to do with armor abilities as people think it did. The truth is that people are gonna find every reason to cry when you can't even deny that this game is aging rapidly since the rise of online competitive play in 2004, people just can't seem to adjust to change. People cried about bloom, THE BLOOM GRAPHICS for goodness sakes. The removal of the BR pissed people off, starcraft 2 came on the rise as well. COD community has stolen a large chunk of the player fanbase. To think there's still a sector of players who refused to cross over to halo 3 saying 2 was the best. Above all this, the true reason why Reach MLG flatlined is 2 things: 1.The BR removal. 2. Game Speed slowdown due to adjustments in the graphics engine. Both of which 343 tweaked. So my verdict stays solid until I've played the game.
@ValleyofDoom Armor lock was confirmed to be removed from the game. 343 also confirmed that all armor abilities will counter balance each other out as if it were a wide-scale rock paper scissors game so I wouldn't worry all too much about that.
@Anthrizacks I disagree entirely on the point you made stating sprint is horrible for competitive play. Last I saw sprint and roll were the only abilities MLG allowed. If it were a nuisance, they would remove it from MLG. If anything, sprint sped up the game pace dramatically. I don't think I've heard anyone complain about Reaches armor abilities hampering the gameplay except you. Some even went as far as saying Reach was the best Halo multiplayer yet. Oh and 343 already elaborated on spawns. Insta spawn only applies to certain modes, weapon spawns ARE on a timer that can be studied and memorized, but the weapon spawning will be random but same grade "ex: shotty/sword or Br/Dmr/Carbine". Forerunner vision is on slow strobe beacon same way UAV works in COD and using it makes everything else semi opaque. My main point is that you should drop the childish whining until you've actually put your hands on the controller, I've been a hardcore Halo fan since it's inception yet even still I look forward to seeing how this game will turn out. So until the product is finished and shipped, you shouldn't have a verdict
@Trickymaster Rumor has it that we're facing rogue Elites this time around, not really covenant. Another hint from 343 quotes "The Covenant will be back, but they may be the least of your worries". @jchristenberry there is a mute button you know......
I've kinda always been a sucker for fresh new things. You throw in a gameplay video with android/cyborg/mech hybrid looking Spartan 4's, classic yet fresh BR strafing, some awesome "never before heard in a halo game" sound effects such as bullets bouncing off armor. Maybe some new large spaces and HI-Tech environments, sick visuals and finally little unnecessary yet cool touches such as heavy helmet breathing and ear ringing Tinnitus after a grenade to the face like reach did. There you have it, you have all the ingredients to giving me nerdy goosebumps. I saw the making of halo4 first look video and I was just about ready to tear off my shirt and yell "TAKE ME 343...TAKE ME.... but be gentle"... Point being.... I'm exited for this game regardless of the changes.
Both of them offer a very different style of multiplayer action, if you want a game that keeps you on your toes with kill streaks, easy use weapons and small squad based combat, you get C.O.D, You like harsh realism of a true warzone in both scale and player numbers, you get Battlefield, I for one will pick Battlefield because I know that this game will offer something different than C.O,D's recycled formula
@h3LL_ZinKy69 the whole "psp2 = ps3 power+ no major updatates" is an EXTREMELY unfair assessment considering that Psp2 is still in it's early stages, nor has it revealed ALL it's features, Sony execs aren't stupid, they're well aware of Nintendo's handheld success and will counteract accordingly, if your a Nintendo Fanboy, it's so easy to say; "sony haven't and never will take over the handheld market, that's nintendos job". If your a neutral optimist consumer, you'll realize that if the opponent hasn't folded yet and wants to call your bet, he probably has the bigger hand.
