@madsnakehhh: I agree... Not saying they are not right, but I have my doubts. The leaks are not a total surprise for me, the first teaser already point in that direction... The how it happens is the reason of the outraged... But I need real context to avaluate the situation, and that no one is going to tell me...

@madsnakehhh: "if people doesn't appreciate elements from the story because it follows a political propaganda"

Can someone explain to me what is"the political propaganda"? So many people talking about this in a game that is not yet in the market... I still don´t get it...

@lonesamurai00: "I want open worlds, great gameplay, and great graphics. The story can be complete drivel and I won't care."

And that's totally cool. It would be bad if we all like the same things. That´s why diversity in games is a good thing.

"Metal Gear and the crazy stories"

Funny you talk about MG... Metal Gear Solid was a game changer for me... If I recall I had 15 or 16 years... It was first game story driven game I played, a mind blow at the time... I still remember to change the conections to beat Psycho Mantis...The first time a game made me felt more than just fun...

"Video games are for playing."

To each their own right? I accept that videogames are for playing... but they can be so much more...

@aross2004: "you're totally contradicting yourself"

Actually I'm not contradicting myself. But let me explain point by point...

"If you chose to save your child, you would in effect be sacrificing the lives of every other child left in the world."

See... That's the major difference in our view. You are assuming the death without action is the same as a direct assassination. I'm not killing anyone because everyone has a chance for survival. Everyone would be able to fight for their lives. Except the person I would kill to try to save them... She would not have any possibility to fight for her life. This is the only real murderer in my view.

"What if someone else chose to save their child at the expense of yours?"

I need context. On the example of debate that situation does not happens. My child would have the same survival possibilities as before... and that´s the major point...

"Would you tell them to save their child knowing full well what it meant for yours, and everyone else's?"

Trust me... I would never say to no one to kill their child, no matter the situation...

"If everyone makes decisions based solely on how it directly affects them, then that is what causes society to fail."

Agree... But not everything is acceptable for the collective good of the society. Without values or moral all you have is the jungle, survival of the fittest/strong.

There must a line that stop evil to take over. Because if everything goes, then there are no boundaries and all atrocities become acceptable.

@mogan: "who then has to live in that ruined world anyway"

But that's the thing. That ruining world is not an ruining world. All we have is to go back in history to see that the beginning of times were pretty similar to TLOU world. Obviously with no infected people, but with countries in war, kings and queens, religion wars... and on and on.

All it is needed is to find something to fight for, a new beginning, a loved one, the creation of a new world... Joel found that on Ellie, Ellie may find that in Joel or in a person in her future...

"I think he save her because HE didn't want to lose her..."

Yes... The main action is the direct bond between the two, not a rational and thoughtful decision. If someone told you they were going to dissect your child would you try to think about pros and cons?

"Joel's ultimately a weak person and put his own needs ahead of everyone else's"

So... Look at the person around you that you love the most. Are you ready to give his/her life for a possible cure for the world? Think this calmly, because is easy to talk about logic without nothing in the balance.

"and took Ellie's opportunity to choose her own fate away from her as much as the Fireflies were going to."

Yes. With this I agree. Both parts took away the choice from Ellie. The fireflies didn't tell her about the consequences of the procedure, and Joel didn't tell her the truth. Both were wrong. In my view, the correct action would be let Ellie decide, but only when she has more life experience.

To let a depressed child to make such decision is in a way to take away the decision from her.

@aross2004: Well... Opinions. Look to a 5 years old child and try to view yourself killing it... because of a possible cure... The honor in your blood must feel proud...

It really surprises me the number of people (obviously you are not the first person who think this way) who is ready to make a crime for "the greater good" no matter who suffers in the way.

One example: Imagine that child is your son or daughter. Do you feel the same? (if you don´t have a son it will be hard for you to understand)

The problem is that I have the empathy to think that even if that child is not mine is the daughter/son of someone...
