Whoever is playing a game @0000 pst (0300 est) at night on a school/work night needs to reevaluate their sleep schedule. If you don't have school or work.....tough; play or do something else until the servers go back on.

No matter what someone always gets the shaft. The entitlement in gamers is......

@mrbojangles25: AFAIK, both will be able to use the openVR drivers so theoretically they both could play each others games.

@mrbojangles25: The problem with your line of thinking is that there wouldn't be any real compelling games. Remember you need 90fps per eye any less and you run the chance of being nauseous. If contemporary games weren't graphically intensive, I could see your point but because the majority of gamers want graphic fidelity, you will need a beast of a machine to run any graphically intense game in VR.

The hardware cost will come down but right now it's too niche. Once the Vive and Oculus Rift are in the early adopters hands, prices will come down sooner or later.

Hmmmm, I wonder.....is it the devs or the gaming press fault for not educating their bases on the process of game development.....?

Anyone with critical thinking should already know this or have logically sussed out this through some sort of research. Anyone else is either ignorant, someone who has an agenda or a troll

@magespot:

"Skyrim came out on November 11, 2011, and Fallout 4 came out on November 10, 2015 - less than four years later with perhaps just over four years of development time at most.....an article from a competing game news outlet (search "first Star Citizen announcement") suggests that Star Citizen has in fact been in development for around 5 years."

If you're going to make this comparison than you will have to add all the the time a developer first started developing their game. Everything from engine selection to asset and game mechanics creation. Some have reported that design of Fallout 4 started shortly after Fallout 3 and development for Elite: Dangerous started in the early to mid 2000s. Therefore, Star Citizen is still within the norms of development time even with your arbitrary time measurement of the first instance of creating assets. FYI, CIG had to refactor pretty much the entire CryEngine to support the size and mechanics they need for the game which takes a considerable more time than having an engine practically all ready to go with just a few tweaks (before you even respond to this, it would cost considerably more and takem more time to develop their own engine than using a pre-built one). CIG also had to build their development team/company while they continued development. Apples to oranges!

"Just because you happen to hold a viewpoint that is in support of Chris Roberts (though I can't imagine why this would be other than for emotional reasons) doesn't mean that you're any less of an armchair developer for trying to compare an actual successful game's development - Fallout 4's - to Star Citizen's."

This is some 3rd rate illogical BS. You are chastising someone about using a supportive viewpoint for their validity, yet you make the same basic argument but instead of supportive it's skeptical. You then make a sideways comment, and assumption, that tries to marry the concept of "well you spent x amount of money so you have to defend it" with this commentor when there is probaly more to it than that. Pretty much your entire response is purely subjective with little to no evidence to support it besides what you think and feel. Very little of what you post is reasoned or logical so you are either a very staunched skeptic or on of those trolls who uses half truths to hide behind their trollness.

@elheber: This is just about the most illogical statement I have read online in a long time. Kudos!
