That's ridiculous. Some of the moves are ones I don't like (DLC, MP demos), but to say that the entire industry sucks (and that it's fact?!) is ridiculous.

We have games like Dead Space 2, Super Meat Boy, Limbo, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Portal 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Xenoblade, Epic Yarn, Donkey Kong Country Returns, L.A. Noire, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Dragon Quest IX, Phantom Trick and more that are superb in each of their own ways. Most of them are sequels, yes, and so what? I've found that the single most overused word in the gaming industry is innovation; it's pointless. It only denotes something that is new, not that it's quality or entertaining. I want something that's fun to play, and the games of today provide exuberantly.

And the film industry is going bad too? What? Win Win, Tree of Life, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Crazy Stupid Love, Bridesmaids, X-Men First CIass, Midnight in Paris, Source Code, Super 8, Rango, The Lincoln Lawyer, do none of those films entice you? I'd chalk it up to you not watching enough movies, mate.

Dead Space 2 is amazing, why shouldn't it get a 9.0?

As for Resistance 3, I've got a quick question. Would you say it's more like the first game in atmosphere in pacing or the second one? I really loved the first title, but was really disappointed by the second one so it's really a deal-breaker for me. I do like that you can hold many weapons at once and that your health doesn't regenerate, though.

I agree with JohnF, it's a peripheral to be supported by some games, it's just an early peripheral. Seeing how the upcoming library of games for the 3DS is very cool from my perspective, I don't see how the 3DS will become anything close to the PSP (though I really like that system, nothing wrong with remakes as long as they're fun :?).

And it's just a few months old, will people please give it time to shape up? The DS had an awful start, but it grew into my favorite handheld as its lifetime went on.

yeah this is true but. man talk about awful starts....this is probably worse than the PS3's launch.

Hm, that's arguable, but to be honest I find it better than the DS's launch. As much as I love that system now, I barely bought a game for it the first year.

My favorite console is the DS, followed by the PS3, followed by the Wii, followed by the PSP.

As an addendum, handhelds are consoles, the term "handheld" is just a short-hand version of handheld-consoles, while what people call "consoles" are more properly called home-consoles.

Why do systems need HD? I still find that a puzzling thought. I still find the PS2 to be the best console ever and it does so without HD.

I don't see why it's so bad. To me, SW just sees 3DS doomed from the start no matter what it does.funsohng

I don't know why I'm surprised by this, to be honest. People love to hate on Nintendo on SW, it's like a law.

Because they're the best developers out there. Period. That's why.

For one, since when did the PSN Store or Live Arcade become universal services? My country has access to neither.

Overpriced? The Wii and the DS were the cheapest of its competitors back in the day, and at the moment, the 3DS is cheaper than the Vita will be at launch. And 40 dollars for a complete rework of OoT is definitely worth it from what I've played. Have you tried it out?

For games that need imports, there is a lot more needed than simply the will to export. You need to find a publisher that wants to distribute it and that's easier said than done.

Rehashes? Remakes are not the same as rehashes. When Nintendo does make a new game in their franchise, they most certainly make it worth it. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is the best game I've played this generation. The remakes are just a way to make new gamers accustomed to the cIassics. Again, don't make it out like they're the only ones to do this, there are a lot more that do and get away with it.

Finally, I'm so tired of the "get with the times" argument. You do not need modern technology to make good games. At all. Many have gone into territories where they rather focus on the tech and not the fun you can get out of games. I play games for fun, and Nintendo delivers.

They've made mistakes, like any other company, but I support them because they make games I enjoy.

You do realize it's September 2011? Anyway, Bioshock Infinite is slated for release that year. Nothing much else needed, personally.

[QUOTE="garland51"]Wow. Nintendo is just pushing those like myself who didn't own a 3DS yet into purchasing a PS Vita while waiting for an official 3DS redesign before picking one up.

I don't understand how Nintendo could do everything right with both the DS & the Wii, & then turning around & do a complete 180 with both the Wii U & the 3DS by making such bad decisions for those platforms at every turn.

Shinobishyguy

so people here actually like the wii now? Did I miss a meeting or something?

People like many things a lot more in retrospect. Like the GC, many hated that console when it was up and about, but I've heard many say it was Nintendo's swan song. Not saying that that's the idea of the original poster, but it's a common community occurence.

As long as this is an add-on, I won't worry. I'll buy it, enjoy it for what it's worth, and that's that. No reason to go into hysterics, this is just another product. People are adding so much hyperbole onto this, it's disturbing.
