I really like first party Nintendo games - Zelda, Mario, etc, but I think Nintendo at the moment have a loss on their hands. They don't seem to understand first off, thats its first party titles that sell Nintendo consoles. Not the third party stuff.

Saw Alien again today on Blu-Ray and loved it. Going to watch Aliens tomorrow.
I feel the games just need to be very atmospheric, and less FPS like in truth. Yes, first person, but possibly not so shooty?
Could do so much with lighting as the original demo showed off.
I doubt we'll see another Aliens game though, at least for a while

My view is that physics should be improved ten fold with the new hardware.
We got somewhat somewhere with the Euphora engine in GTA for example.

In racing games for example, surely we should be up to a point now when all that hardware can be utilised to offer real time damage simulation of how a car would REALLY behave?

So much so that manufacturers no longer say "no", because the game accurately depicts a real life crash accurately? That tends to be the reason no racing game with licenced cars ever have proper crash damage modeling.

I for one expect this, this gen. If not, next gen isn't powerful enough.

I don't believe that showed any CGI. A game engine showing though, with not much else going on, will of course allow for more polygons showing at once, etc. That cave game with the dragon for example. Very cramped environments allow for a lot more freedom in the graphics department.

Microsoft certainly need to show something. No doubt they will also show off the console too

I saw quite a few errors, but it is only start footage.

Saw texture/shadow pop in. Look at the drop ship on the bottom left as the one you are in approaches as it is taking off. The shadow appears far too late.
As your drop ship is about to land, the white boxes you see suddenly appear with some kind of fabric material.
Then when that guy is jumping into that drop ship near the end, the animation suddenly changes with no roll in at all. It jumps, as the model changes.

I notice these things so easily. That is the kind of thing I expected NOT to see

@SingletreeAve @DCMKC 8GB RAM isn't obselete at all in a gaming machine. If anything, that is over doing it, but more is better than less in this field

@grbolivar @cf_Kage I have no idea, unless its an X86-64 processor, in which case it can handle slightly more... Why not X64 though...

@SingletreeAve @DCMKC It must be 64 bit in some ways to use 8GB RAM surely?...

8GB RAM wouldn't read in a 32bit system

I just hope when The Last Guardian does come along, its not given such bad reviews, because the developers pretty much gave up with it
