It was a bit of a good news/bad news day, firstly the bad news. EA and Bioware have confirmed that Mass Effect 3 will not be launched Holiday 2011. The game has been delayed until the first calendar quarter of 2011 (Jan - March)

To temper our frayed nerves Bioware have released two new screenshots , click the links to see the screenshots :-

I can't really help you with modding DA 1 or 2 and I am afraid there isn't much in the way of mods for Mass Effect 2. The best you can get are some changes to the way the weapons handle and some re-textures of the characters that involve using texmod and this can be pretty resource intensive.

If you want to give it a go though then the first port of call is here :-

If you are interested in "re-texturing" some of your characters then you can do worse than visit this :-

I used compilation 03 for a while to get Miranda looking like this :-

As long as you don't expect much from the mods and are willing to put the time into faffing about getting them running you might get some enjoyment out of them.

If I live to be 500 I don't think I will ever understand why developers bother with film grain ? I like clear crisp visuals, that is why I game on the PC. So why in gods name would I want to degrade the visuals with an artificial film grain filter :?

I hope they reveal how Tali looks like... I am a Tali-mancer.Elann2008

I like Tali but I wouldn't say I am a Tali-mancer ;) I admit though I do want to see what the Quarians look like and I hope we get the opportunity to do that in Mass Effect 3. I know some don't want her ever revealed and that is fair enough, but at the very least it should be a choice as to whether you want to see what the Quarians look like or not.

On a related note as some one else said, Bioware themselves haven't decided what Tali will look like. If you watch the end of this video :-

The guy states that it is a hotly debated topic at the moment.

Simple answer is that it's fan art and is just an "imagining" of what a Talimancer :P thinks Tali will look like.

I don't mind the new paint job on the Normandy, but those god awful black lines segmenting the hull make it look so crappy. I am thinking about ordering one of these but I just can't get past the absolute ugliness of those lines.

As DanielDust says no legal copy of a game will ever have you messing about with RAR files, if you are having to unrar stuff to play your game then it is highly unlikely that is a legal copy of the game.

I think we can safely say anyone reading this topic will not have a single clue what you are asking. Why not try again and EXPLAIN what the problem actually is.

GTA IV run with a higher res, frame rate, and had better graphics than the console versions here. Sure I needed a quad core and a GTX 295, but whatever that's ancient technology in gaming PC land (hell that's pretty much crap compared to my current PC, hex core + HT, SLId 480s, etc). Not much to say though people have been crying about every multiplatform game for months now.CellAnimation

No it didn't I have a quadcore and a GTX 260 with 4gbs of RAM I think you would agree that is more than enough to play GTA 4 at better than console settings right ? Well it wasn't, the damn game chugs at under 30fps dropping right down to 15fps on LOWER than console settings. So please don't try and pass GTA 4 off as somehow "better" than the console version. It was a mess, hell a lot of PC gamers couldn't even get the game running at all when the game first came out, all you got was a WS10 error.

GTA 4 was a complete mess on the PC and I don't expect Rockstar's next game Max Payne 3 to be much better. That is why I will not touch anything Rockstar makes until I see them actually produce something of purchasable quality.

The part I think is funny though, is that they could have avoided all this and just replaced the word "console" with "system" which works for every platform. Oh well.

mkaliaz

I don't think they are allowed to do that on the console, the message has to use the word "console" if it doesn't the game fails certification. I personally don't consider Valve "PC developers" they haven't been PC developers for years. But I do find it interesting how people seem to give Valve a blank cheque for this kind of crap, if this had been any other developer the majority of PC gamers would have been screaming "console port, there is your proof a console save game screen", but nope not if it is Valve. If Valve do it then it was just a "simple, honest mistake".

In nearly every way Portal 2 is another Crysis 2 with limited options (compared to the previous Portal), console save screens. weak graphics and low quality textures and to top it all off Valve have done Day 1 DLC, hell even Crytek didn't try that. Yet a lot of PC gamers criticised the hell out of Crytek for Crysis 2 but Valve ohhhhhhhh no "thou shall not criticise Valve whatsoever".
