We really need a face palm emoticon for this board. Let me see if I have this straight, some guy on "answers.yahoo" links to some guys twitter that says "they MAY be porting the game". That then becomes "hey the PC is getting it March 2011". Now a quick maths lessons says that is less than 3 months away and they haven't even ANNOUNCED they are doing the game yet and you think it is coming out in 3 months.

Are you sure? I could've sworn that the two games could be combined.CalinWatson
The only way to "combine" them is to re-purchase the Episodes from Liberty City as DLC from the Games For Windows marketplace. When you start GTA 4 up you get a screen that allows you to "choose" wihether to play GTA4 or play The Lost and Damned or Ballad of Gay Tony. That screen only works if you have the episodes in download form though.
That is about as close as you can get to "combining" the Episodes into GTA 4 though, you will never see game assets in the Episodes appearing in GTA 4. Basically the addons are not really addons but seperate games using the same city and that is it really.
I heard the ps3 version that's coming out is gonna be packed in with 6+ hours of extra content that no other version carries or will carry.wootasifwoot
Hate to burst your bubble but that is a load of rubbish, the "exclusive 6 hour content" was actually a mistranslation. The 6 hours actually refers to all the DLC included with the PS3 version there is no "exclusive" content in the PS3 version aside from the interactive comic which has now been pretty much confirmed to also be coming to the PC/360. The producer of Mass Effect 2 on the PS3 had this to say :-
I want also to touch on the '6 hour exclusive mission'. This I believe is a communication error lost in translation. When we talk about 6 hours of content we are talking about what's included exclusively "On Disc" (Kasumi, Shadow Broker, Overlord), The Interactive Back Story and the Cerberus Network Access. Although I will admit I have no idea where they got the "6 hour figure from", Kasumi can be done in 20 mins, Overlord about 40 mins and Shadow Broker about an hour. So looks like the superior version is still the PC version, have to say I love playing it at 1920 x 1080 and 60fps.
Harbinger is a reaper. What you're referring to is a collector.
Oodama_Rasengan
^ yeah this, there is no way you can think a Reaper looks like the alien out of independence day. The Collector General does have a passing resemblance but then the Collector General isn't called Harbinger :P
Erm well I guess this is a fairly subjective thing but I would have to say a Reaper looks nothing like the aliens in Independence day.
true...but either way, what MS is doing with paying for timed exclusivity is mainly for the 360 vs PS3 versions of the gameCDUB316
It is also aimed at the PC, Microsoft are on record as stating they purposely go out of their way to keep games and content off the PC to encourage people to buy the xbox 360 version. If it was just aimed at the PS3 then the content would be available on the PC/360. You have to understand in Microsofts world they actually see the PC (yes the platform they owe their very existence too) as much a competitor as the PS3 and they will do everything they can to ensure the Xbox gets a leg up over the PC.
either you're buying the superior PC version and MS wins...
CDUB316
Not quite sure how "MS wins" if you buy the PC version, they recieve no royalty fees for the PC version. The only way MS can "win" if you have the PC version is the fact that you need windows to run the game but then you need windows to run 99.99% of all software. In fact in the case of Fallout New Vegas MS certainly did not "WIN" they lost because Bethesda ditched GFWL in favour of steam and that is no doubt one of the reasons why MS kept the first DLC off the PC. A case of sour grapes if you ask me, still it will inevitably harm Bethesda and Microsoft in the long run.
Nope I guess the PC version got canned.Darksonic666
How can something that never existed be "canned" ? The developers right from the launch of RDR stated they had no plans for a PC version.
Figures developers don't really care about PC games now a days anyway.
Darksonic666
Erm no just no, what you meant to say was "Figures Rockstar is a console centric company and does not have the ability to produce PC games now a days". Rockstar has never had a massive commitment to the PC platform, why should they ? After all no one on the PC is going to chuck a couple of million their way to make their products exclusive for 12 months to a particular platform.
Would you recommend getting, and playing through, the first mass effect before the second one? chrisrooR
It has been rumoured that the PC/360 will get the Mass Effect Genesis interactive comic shortly after the PS3 version. The comic is a sort of "condensed" overview of Mass Effect 1. It is more than likely this comic will also be a free download for existing customers. So if you have missed out on ME 1 hopefully soon there will be a way to catch up on the story along with some of the decisions.
There is no information on whether there will actually be a GOTY edition and it is hard to see how there could be one when you consider the game is already on 2 discs. The GOTY eidtion would have to come on 4 discs if they include the DLC, now obviously this isn't a problem for the PC but it is going to be a nightmare on the Xbox 360. So I am not convinced there will be a GOTY edition.
Even if there is a GOTY edition it isn't likely to come out till all the DLC has been done. It is rumoured we will get 2 more DLC episodes this coming year. So a GOTY edition isn't likely to surface any time soon (if ever).
So I would get Mass Effect 2 now, it isn't going to get any cheaper and you could be waiting a long time for a GOTY edition.
