Well this isn't a "solution" but it is a work around for you to get sims 3 back on your machine and to be honest I don't know if you can do this on a MAC but it is worth checking out,

If you got to the EA store :-

https://activate.ea.com/applyentitlement.do

You can activate your game and download it digiitally from the EA store. If you don't trust the above link then here is the link to the EA store :-

http://eastore.ea.com/

Once there click on the "Activate a Game" link in the top right hand corner.

There is a chance you might be able to pick it up towards the end of the sale. If I remember last year the final day of the sale consisted of previous sale items that had done well during the sale. So it is possible at the end of this sale Mass Effect might be one of those items.

Personally I can't see Deadspace 2 shifting many copies on the PC. So if multiplayer is important to you then you would be better to get the console version to ensure there are plenty of people to play against/with.

Well firstly Holiday 2011 is just provisional I actually expect it to not release in that period. Secondly by the time the game is released it will be 2 years since the last game, which is roughly the same period of time between ME 1 and ME 2 (about 2yrs 3months). The obviously do not need to do anything with the engine since they feel confident enough to release the PS3 version of ME 2 using the "mass effect 3 enhanced" unreal engine.

I would say 2 years is about right but I can see it possibly being pushed into January/February 2012.

I would also like to add that just because you got on well with the DRM during a benchmark test doesn't mean you won't run into problems with the DRM during a game you will be playing for hours on end. I don't like to advise people on whether they should or should not buy a game but personally even at the cheap price steam are offering Assassins Creed 2 I don't believe it is worth the money principally because of the DRM.

RDR sold 8 million copies, second best selling game of the year. For making such a cardinal mistake Rockstar is doing fine.GeneralShowzer

At no point in my post did I indicate that "Rockstar were not doing fine". I merely indicated that they were neglecting the biggest platform on the planet and as such, since this is a PC & Mac games forum things are going to be slightly skewed in ME 2's favour since Bioware actually support the PC unlike Rockstar. Now you obviously like RDR and you think it is better than ME 2, I accept that and I am not going to waste my time trying to change your mind. Why can't you accept that some think ME 2 is better than RDR and you will not change their mind either ?

As you said this is meant to be YET ANOTHER topic about the possibility of RDR coming to the PC. So we do not need to mention ME 2 at all in this topic. If you see someone say something about ME 2 then it is best to ignore them.

As for me I don't particularly care if RDR comes to the PC, I have very little interest in the western theme. Now couple that with Rockstars crappy record of PC ports then at best RDR is a £5 steam sale purchase for me. I do not like the way Rockstar has treated the PC platform and it isn't a company I feel like throwing my money at. In fact the only reason I would possibly cheer for a port of RDR to the PC is if it meant we could stop these topics from cropping up.

I really do not know why people keep banging on about ME 2 in this topic. The topic is meant to be a "wish" topic that RDR comes to the PC. As a PC gamer I can say ME 2 is massively better than RDR because at least Bioware release their games on the PC unlike Rockstar that seem to quite happily neglect the biggest gaming platform on the planet.

Where did you read this?the_ChEeSe_mAn2

He probably read it from this blog :-

http://blog.zerodean.com/2010/blog/to-whom-it-may-concern/

Pretty damning indictment of Rockstar if those working/business practices are to be believed. But at the end of the day anyone can do a blog so it isn't set in stone that the blog reflects reality. Although it does seem to match a lot of complaints that were raised by an anonymous letter from the programmers wives which was posted earlier this year.

EDIT :- The original blog seems to be missing now, here is a link that sums up what the original blog said :-

Yeah we get it GeneralShowzer YOU think the Mass Effect series is rubbish, hell you tell us often enough in topics relating to Mass Effect so we do get it now. You happen to think RDR is a fantastic game and for you that might be right I accept that you obviously feel that RDR is better than Mass Effect 2. Now why can't you accept that others think Mass Effect 2 is better than RDR ? In my books Mass Effect 2 is already one step ahead of RDR in the fact it is actually on the PC.
