@Prats1993 @FighterforJC You are hilarious. He revolutionized the gaming industry. Many of the games you play wouldn't exist without the original Unreal releasing and being as popular as it was thanks to him.

Overrated sellout? "Had potential"? He's done more with his life (and more for gaming) than any of you losers. Go be jealous elsewhere.

@mathg04 He never cried. He made a one sentence tweet of a true statement.

Oh internet, how I wish I could punch most of you through TCP/IP.

@MirkoS77 Get educated, Cliff is retired. His statements do him zero good, as he isn't getting profits off of games from Epic anymore.

A professional gave an opinion based on the fact that he knows everything will go digital anyway. He never said he was agreeing with MS, or anything else. Read the article. It was a tweet simply saying the disc based model is going away. Which is 100% true. Whether he supports Microsoft's way, or Steam's, or GoG's...he did not say. You're simply assuming, and making yourself look bad.

@shinta125 @colt_a Nintendo is a great developer and they get the job done. I respect them a whole lot on their first party software. (Their hardware is a different story, but irrelevant to this conversation). Sega is also decent.

That doesn't mean that they won't go digital just like everyone else. If anything, I expect Nintendo might be the first to go digital, since they are in the red in terms of finances going on the third year straight. Its more than just budget as I said. Its also more convenient and efficient. Its also the way of the future.

Just how LoL has made the free to play game market explode (for better or worse)...Steam is leading the way to show how a 100% digital platform can work, and still have very satisfied customers. Combine this with the fact that every publisher wants to save some money....its inevitable.

@TeasingStallion Wah, wah, developers need to stick to a budget!

*Developer sticks to budget, releases same rehashed Call of Duty/Madden-esque game every year*

Wah wah, developers need to innovate and try something new!

*Developer tries new IP, but has to sacrifice graphics for design time and developing new engine tech*

Wah wah! This game's graphics are so old. I could play this on my PS2!

Whiny and entitled customers are just as much the problem.

@TheWatcher000 @KhanhAgE These posts show how completely uneducated you are about Cliff B, or his career in general. The suggestion for post of the years suggests a complete lack of education on the entire industry which is sad.

Whiny, uneducated and entitled customers are a big problem with the industry. Just as much as money grubbing publishers.

@FTB_Screamer If it wasn't for Unreal and its engine, 50% of the games released today would be a lot worse, or not even exist. What have you done to revolutionize the industry? Oh nothing. Maybe you should should find something else to do.

@StarkJJ You can say that, but he's 100% right.

The Gen after this coming one will not have disc based games. The PC is far ahead of the curve when it comes to these things, and we've all but got rid of them. Its easier than standing in line at gamestop, cheaper, and more efficient.

Should triple A devs work to make their products cheaper? Sure. But even indie devs with super cheap budgets only release digitally? Why? For all the reasons stated, even for small games, its cheaper, more convenient, and more efficient.

Its the way of the future, if you don't like it, you probably will want to find a new hobby other than gaming, because in 10 years, there won't be discs anymore.

@CommodoreRaslin or you are are.

Calling people stupid for something they enjoy just shows how you have the maturity level of an eight year old. Grow up.
