This was confirmed by their website, and multiple employees. You are literally just saying shit because you WANT it to be bad. Not because it was.

Again, its this sort of "know it all" thinking that caused this giant step backwards for gaming technology.

@GOGOHeadray Yes it was. They confirmed it themselves that it would be free. Its easier to control than disc lending and the used game market that they are going to. In which they get no game sales for either.

Another example of how misinformed people killed what was previously a good console.

@C0v3rtUnis0l @inkyspot Exactly. The Xbox One policies (besides Region Locking, that sucked) were in place for good reasons. It ends up being a better system with stuff like family sharing.

But they failed at PR when it came to E3 and educating the typically stupid console gamer. So now we have the PS4, Microsoft edition. Consoles been dumbed right back down to last gen.

@jd7904 @granola_goodnes He makes assumptions that they would be more like Steam. Which is a fair one. People think Valve has those crazy sales because its good for gamers? No they don't.

They have those crazy sales because people will buy games they never planned on playing. Steam makes money hand over fist. Valve is running a service more lucritive than World of Warcraft except it will be around forever.

So yea, we can assume that Microsoft would do the same thing, because they want a piece of that pie too. Too bad people don't know what's good for them.

@granola_goodnes He's right. All the great features that seperated the consoles are now gone because of internet whiners. Now we have two consoles that are the same thing, seperated by a handful of exlusives.

Innovation and choices be damned. Stupid internet.

So much whining and false knowledge about the Xbox One previously. It was really going to be the console of the future. Thanks American Military. Good thing you're not just fucking up third world countries, but holding back technology in your own too!

@TeoKot Gaikai 100% sucks. I was in beta, and I've demo tested it again recently. Its extremely bad.

Also, its funny that those people who claimed they didn't want an always on console (even though it was once per 24 hours) talk about how streaming games is a feature.

@epicgameresearc DRM was crucial so things like Family Sharing (a far superior method than disc sharing) could exist.

Now the Xbox One is dumbed down to the PS4 level.
