@onixevil Problem with the Wii U is there aren't any games for it. The only thing to fix that will be when Nintendo starts releasing its usual catalog of Marios, Zeldas, Metroids, StarFoxes etc.
@Nefarious13 Same here. One reason I preferred 360 to PS3 was 3rd party developers in general did a better job on the 360 due to its easier to work with architecture. Graphics and frame rate were just better. But Sony seems to have addressed that in the PS4, so all things being equal I'm going with the company that chooses not to screw its own customer base for profits.
There are MOUNTAINS of gaming choices now. Between PC, current gen consoles, emulators, android, etc etc you could easily skip a couple of the nextgen consoles and still have more games to play than you could ever play in a lifetime. As of now my only planned purchase is a PS4. If Sony pulls the same crap as MS it will be nothing and I'll still be plenty busy gaming.
I've owned both the XBox and Xbox 360, as well as a PS2 and PS3, but I leaned a little more toward Microsoft. But the XBox Live fee to use Netflix/Hulu, and now a fee for second hand games (or even sharing in one house for Pete's sake) has pushed me firmly into the Sony camp. Nice move, MS. Course, these are the same guys who gave us Windows 8, so I guess it's not a huge surprise.
EA Promises breakthroughs in all these exact things EVERY year and fails every time. They can't even seem to fix the most BASIC problems year after year after year despite gamers screaming about them. I have zero faith this is anything more than the same ole crap.
@Caninicom Again, opinion. Somebody at some point was going to venture back into the console waters. If not Nintendo, somebody else.
Was that "younger" comment about me? Age doesn't make you wise, mister. But for your information I have been playing games since the 80's and am a software game developer. I'm pretty familiar with the industry. You're entitled to your opinion. Doesn't make it fact.
@grove12345 @cryofax I just got done running Skyrim on my 1989 PC at 320x200 and 4-color CGA graphics and internal speaker. Before it exploded. lol sorry just trying to lighten things up. Adults arguing over video games settings is kinda sad. Don't we all have work to do? ;)
@grove12345 @The_Beanster Do you even own a PC? lol. A high end PC is going to run games as well as an console from that year. Why would it magically not be able to do so 6 years later? It wouldn't run the games as well as a top end PC from 2013, but it's going to run games just fine. I can attest to that. Hell I ran Assassin's Creed with an AMD FX-57 and 8800GTS before I updated recently. And it looked much better than on the consoles and ran at a higher framerate.
@grove12345 You have no clue. A PC can last as long as a console. You run the game at the level of detail your PC can handle. Difference is a PC can upgrade and get a better experience if you like. But by no means does it mean you can't still run the game at the older settings, which will still be better than a console of the same period.
