@tommynj - where were you when they said not going to require always online to play single player etc? Exclusive titles which haven't been announced (because the console hasn't had its reveal event yet) = lack of games in your eyes? You are very presumptuous.

@AlphaWolF_J It may have been a crappy decision but they have reversed it. I am fine with supporting a company that corrects its previous wrongs. At least you know they are listening to public opinions prior to launch.

@halovsmetroid2 @okassar You don't think they changed their minds after the bad publicity the online DRM was getting? I think that is more likely especially considering what happened with Adam Orth and his eventual forced resignation. You don't get forced to resign over a rumour. That happens when you let the "cat out of the bag."

They saw the feedback to the always online DRM model and did a quick about face and have made this announcement specifically to try to heal the wounds prior to the reveal. If they didn't do this a lot of people wouldn't care what the machine looked like or what games were coming for it... the console would be tainted with bad publicity already. This announcement is designed to clean the slate... I think its a smart move.
