[QUOTE="dblin"]Ha ha yeah epic is a great acquisition for a company looking to move into the casual market. GeoW was an average shooter with a fantastic artistic appeal. If gears had poor graphics no-one would have touched it. They made a game for lemmings... blood, guts and not much to think about! ;)Veterngamer

God Of War just stopped by to say "HELLO"!

There is a lot about Gears to appreciate other than graphics. I think its funny that you say that it is an average shooter when its TPS gameplay is more complicated than 90% of FPSs and there is more strategy.

I'm sorry but I fail to see any complexity in gears of war at all.. take cover, kill everything and move forward. The only strategy in gears is decidng whether or not to revive the IDIOTIC team that is with you. "Yeah i'm the train baby...(2 seconds)... I need help!!"

The issue is price... the wii at its current price point cannot go anywhere one or two price drops maximum. This means that at a certain point the wii will have been sold to all that are willing to pay the price for it. The ps3 on the other at this point in time is a luxury item with a high price point attatched to it. It will attract buyers at this price but not really accelerate until the next price drop.
It was when ps3 went sub $200 that it really started moving approximately 80-90 million ps2 owners purchased at this price point. These consumers have an expectation that there hardware be at a sub $200 price point. Do honestly see wii maintaining its momentum when the ps3 and 360 are at very similar price points to it? This coupled with the fact that Ps3 will probably have the largest software lineup means that it could and probably will win. Will it beat the ds? no way.

Looking at recent history I wouldn't expect much from Sony so I'd say MS.RocKtheCasbaH

:( I thought recent history is the only point that sony has really delivered in the ps3 era... for so many years sony has dominated e3 presentations, last year was a return to form and I honestly expect a follow up. Microsoft has lost all its good keynote speakers. Sony has Phil Harrison and nintendo has Reggie... MS has Shane Kim lol... Peter Moore >>>>>>>>>> Shane Kim

Shenmue 3? Halo 4? Gears not exclusive? MGS4 Multiplat? SF4 exclusive?

What are your predictions at this early stage??

It seems to me that sega has completely dropped the ball. Yu Suzuki used to be held up right next to Shigeru Miyamoto but it seems that something is terribly wrong with the company. I loved my Dreamcast and I thought that Shenmue 1 was the pinnacle of that console. However unlikely Shenmue 3 is I still have hope... hell people said there would never be Street Fighter 4.

Maybe Yu Suzuki is trolling SW right.... FFS YU!!! make the game!!!

Sorry. :(

OUCH that sucks so bad... I have heard about Shenmue online but I was hoping it was a sick joke. How could Sega let this franchise go. I believe Shenmue 1 and 2 to be the greatest games no one played. I suppose thats why we will never see Shenmue 3
