In my personal opinion, it's not a big deal if the game doesn't have all over 800 monsters. It will still have plenty.

The simple fact of the matter is a lot of pokemon are redundant, and existed to flesh out new regions and be refreshing, so you didn't get ratatta every time, sometimes you'd get a bidoof; you didn't get pidgey every time, sometimes you got hoothoot.

Not every pokemon in each gen is good to bring along for the entire adventure, and some make better party members than others. Do you think anyone is bringing Beedrill along on the entire quest? Only the biggest Beedrill fans. And do you think many people will choose not to evolve a Kakuna and keep it from evolving til max level? Probably not, unless you like Kakuna (and like 3 weak moves, max) that much.

I've said it countless times before and I'll say it again. Each pokemon game should be treated like a self-contained adventure. You have old favorites, but they'll phase in and out. It's about the discovery of new pokemon in a new region, new favorites, with a few familiar ones sprinkled in.

Do you trade your leveled characters from the last Fire Emblem game to the new one? No. Why? Because they'd be OP and don't fit into the new story usually. Same deal here.

At first I thought this article was going to talk about public arcade machines.

Go into any Dave & Busters or another place with modern arcade cabinets, and the games just aren't fun - they're social games.

I'd been wanting to go back and watch the series again since I never saw all of it, I stopped watching by like early season 6. I've been thinking about watching it again if I decided to resubscribe to Netflix again, though I knew this would be happening eventually.

With Neon Genesis Evangelion, Stranger Things, and The Office still available in its entirety, maybe now is a good time to check things out. It would only be more perfect if Better Call Saul and Disenchantment got a new season added to the service right now.

Thanks for the review, Turtle!

I wasn't really sure about CoH when it was announced, it didn't seem like a sure buy for me. While it's still not a must-buy, watching the Nintendo Minute where they played the game really sold it to me. I was happy that this was more like CotN than Zelda, since it's a bit more original that way.

I've never played CotN, but I have some limited knowledge of it from playing Quest of Dungeons, where Cadence is unlockable. But seeing how the gameplay meshes with the style and gameplay of Zelda, it almost creates another type of game entirely yet.

What impresses me most is how good some of the music in the game is. I don't really mind that this is a shorter adventure, since I have so much else to play, but it's good that it has some roguelike elements to give the game replayability. I don't think I would pay the full $25 for Cadence of Hyrule, but maybe someday when it's part of a sale I'll pick it up.

I'd have to say Ditto is my favorite pokemon. But I always wished it could learn a few other moves besides Transform.

I kinda always wanted to watch Evangelion, so this and Stranger Things might gimme a reason to resub. Just waiting to hear that Better Call Saul's latest season was added...

@blowfish82: Well I would counter that just because it's radically altered, doesn't necessarily mean it'll be a shit-show. Tbh, based off of the couple of clips and images I've seen the game actually looks like it could be pretty decent. I think it'll be interesting to see how it turns out.

@Barighm: Yeah, you hear a lot about in older games where budget restraints or time restraints led to this or that being scrapped or shelved. I remember some of the Turks didn't really seem that fleshed out, and some characters it was uncertain whether they even survived through the game until that Advent Children movie was made. Lots of opportunity to clarify things and flesh things out now.

This being a remake, and with so much time since the original release, I'm surprised nobody has floated the idea that they could actually alter parts of the story. What if they did give you a way to save Aerith this time? What if AVALANCHE could survive that showdown at the tower? Maybe there'll even be new party members this time around?

I think it'll probably be a pretty decent game. I expect they'll really expand upon the early part of the game and show more of Midgar, give players more time with AVALANCHE and the early cast.

As a fan of this game for going on 20 years, I gotta admit I might be interested in eventually playing it one day. But I think I would like to sit down and play through the original game in proper again one day first.

The original Space Jam was a good movie, but I think it was very much a product of its time. I don't know how you would really make a sequel to it anyway.
