@haze_blaze @Gadeos Not True, A lot of fat PS3's have had issues similar to the Xbox. I've bought a RROD era xbox and have yet to run into it, that's not saying that there wasn't plenty of people who didn't. I ran through plenty of PS2's disc read errors and ran into a couple of YLOD. I have known quite a few guys that run into the RROD. Really, the only console I would be super confident to get at launch is Nintendo consoles. Never had a problem with them from the NES, to the WII handhelds included (even the virtual Boy)

@Chico86_basic that is a Issue I never understood with MS. They have plenty of IP's they can use, but they don't. Mind-boggling. I would love another Killer Instinct or a new Conker's game. Hell, give me a Midtown Madness game at least

I like the fact that they are doing a global launch, and that they are really bringing it this generation. It shows you they want to take the top spot back and that the PS3 may not have paid off as well as they thought. MS is going to have to make some neck breaking moves to really keep its position, I just feel they are too conservative to do so

@firedrakes But no one ever mentions the PS3 having the same problems that were actually worse because there wasn't really a permanent fix for it. At least with the RROD, I could permanently fix it myself, the PS3 YLOD or RLOD, it wasn't a guaranteed fix. ON top of that, MS did extended the warranty for those consoles with those issues. Let's call a spade a spade guys

@queuing_for_PS4 @Double-Ego @Jyakotu But how it looks can mean something to some folks. SOme people can't have a giant system because it won't fit where they want it. Some people want it to look nice and compliment where they will put it You may not care about that, but some folks love aesthetics

@queuing_for_PS4 @lilcurt1978 Nintendo isn't doomed though. Yeah the Wii U isn't pushing units, but they are far from desperation mode. If you are just talking this generation, sure, but as a company, they are the most successful out of the big 3. Their body of work dwarfs anybody, and the fact that they can just simply release the consoles they have shows they have room for innovation (money)

I only feel the price tag is high so they can compensate for the licenses they would have to get. Obviously, getting all of those licenses will not be cheap if they were to get it legally. Either that, or take and run with the money when they get sued heavy.

The thing with console is the convenience of it. PC's are just not simply plug and play. Yes, PC's are more powerful if you compared the best of the best, but not everyone has the top of the line, or even mid of the line PC's. PC building is cheaper than it use to be, but some people just don't want to deal with or have time to build one. On top of that, some people do not have the space or even want to make space for a PC, Laptops would be the alternative, but they too, suffer from not being able to really upgrade it, although you could do more than you could with a console.

Consoles have their purpose, and I doubt it will die out, but rather merge into a proprietary PC (I know it is like that now, but I mean even more so than now), where you will get most of the basic functions of a PC, but has exclusive things about it to make it more appealing to all audiences, plus the gimmicks that only work for consoles (see Nintendo WII MS KInect PS Move)
