Wii or X360?
by dubel_07 on Comments
BEFORE YOU EVEN BEGIN:
I've played both along with a rather large library of each's games, I have very little money (X360 is pushing my budget, though is possible), and I don't want tech-specs. I know that X360 is more powerful, has a larger HD, has more mature-rated games, has HD capabilities along with fiber-optic sounds etc. Now the story:
In college I became dependent on my DS, laptop, and a friend's Wii to take my mind off of various issues, crappy physics tests, and to have fun. Before that I played X360 at a neighbor's home, where we beat CoD2, CoD3, CoD4, Quake 4, most of Dead Rising, and all but half of a level of the overrated Halo 3. Wii completed games to date are Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, Resident Evil: the Umbrella Chronicles, No More Heroes (which was AwEsOmE!!), and Smash Bros.: Brawl. (The point of telling you about the games I've played is so that you don't use one game to convince me either way; but I'm open to that suggestion...the "Halo is awesome" mentality is the polar opposite of what I think).
I'm looking forward to two releases: Alone in the Dark and Resident Evil 5. I'm pretty sure that RE5 won't be on Wii, though I could argue either way if I was asked to. I'm impartial to graphics since my tv in college is pre-HD/fi-os sound/etc..
Sorry if this creates more problems then it solves for anyone trying to help me but, HELP!! WHICH ONE DO I CHOOSE?!?!

Silent Hill 3

Woah...that was trippy...
The game, as a whole, was on par with SH2--which I loved. The problems I have are on my PC the options and inventory screens are incredibly, incredibly laggy--beyond all explanation. Another thing I had an issue with is the fact that where in SH2 you could "quick swap" the weapons in your inventory and manually reload your guns, you cannot in SH3. That made the boss fight VERY ANNOYING having to switch from handgun to shotgun/sub-machine gun then back to handgun and so on. The bullet-proof vest was a good thought and Douglas is the man, much like James Sunderland. Even though I never finished SH1, I was able to understand the references since I somehow remember much more of a game that I never played. As they were making summations from the first game, I actually remembered reading something along these lines years ago. The haunted house (and Danny) scared the hell out of me.

Oh. My. God.
The game was AMAZING. I just finished it; though it left many, many questions unanswered, I realize that there are 4 endings. I got "Leave" which, I should say, was a bit anti-climactic. The game was AWESOME. If you're a Resident Evil fan like I am and you are looking for something to hold you over until Resident Evil 5 or Alone in the Dark, pick up a Silent Hill game. James Sunderland is the man.

The Roaming Gnome...
by dubel_07 on Comments
So I've decided to detail the misadventures of the roaming gnome as I try to get this confounded achievement. I'll keep this updated. Today, we went through some more mines filled with zombies and through an antlion nest. We also helped two guys hold off against an antlion invasion. I got the crap beaten out of me several times; eventually, we got enough extract for the vortigaunts to hold their seance...:|
I'm supposed to do WHAT to that gnome?!

...errr...I was going through my Half-Life games today since TF2 just released more achievements; the total is now in the mid 50's. I went back to Half-Life 2: Episode Two and found this beast of an achievement. I'm supposed to carry this little demon across 6 entire Half-Life chapters. Then, I'm supposed to take the gravity gun and shoot him into space. That's not fair.
