@foxfacer2d2 @grey_fox1984 ....so no villain is ever allowed to use a samurai sword?
As for smoking- not a reason to criticize the game. Solid Snake has smoked in every Metal Gear game, the dude from Vanquish is a bonafide chimney and at the end of the day, if people make the dumb decision to smoke, it's their choice and shouldn't be blamed on a video game (the same argument could be made to say those people should not watch any movie/tv show made before 1998)
Just beat it - it was awesome. Don't believe the fanboys who are saying otherwise. It's a new take on Devil May Cry and it works as well as the original series. In addition to that it feels fresh, while maintaining the spirit and gameplay of the original series. The story is better, the acting is better and the art direction is some of the best of any modern action game. The amount of collectibles really encourage replay value too. Ninja Theory did really, really well.
I loved Devil May Cry 1 and 3 - 2 was terrible and the story in 4 went off the rails a bit.
DmC takes the series in an interesting new direction and isn't bogged down by the story universe that the old games set up. The result is a cool new universe that feels like Devil May Cry, but re-tells the Sparda and Sons story in a fresh way. The voice acting is great, the combat is lots of fun and the art direction in the game is fantastic. Just because Dante has a haircut that makes him look like a person more than an anime character is not a good reason to hate this game if you ask me. Ninja Theory knocked it out of the park.
@alex33x "Comparisons" are not the same as "Contests" - these videos aren't made to elect a "winner", they're made so people who have more than one system can decide which version they want- and PCs do not alway look better; they only look better if they have specs that can out-do the console versions. There is no fixed PC setup by which to compare with enough accuracy to use the term "always". My Intel 486 from 1994 running windows 3.1 is a PC- would it run this game better than a 360?
@Assemblent It's not really a fight dude- these videos are made to help you decide which version to get if you have options; had I seen it before I picked up the PS3 version, I might have got it for 360 instead. Though at the same time, I like the PS3 controller better for 3rd person action games like this - and now that I'm a few hours in and have not noticed any frame-rate drops that have been note-worthy, I think Cam's view on PS3 being fine are more appropriate than Mark sort of dumping all over it.
@strawhat1987 PS3 doesn't surprise me if it's coming out on 360- but considering it was designed as a portable game, it's weird that Sony isn't pushing for a Vita port
The only thing I would suggest a crackdown on that is NOT the parents responsibility is store clerks/managers themselves. The only situation in which a parent cannot be blamed for their kid having an M-Rated game, is if the clerk sold the game to someone under 17 without carding them ]. Make the laws for that the same as cigarettes and booze (right down to similar punishments for people of age who buy M-rated games for under age children who they are not the legal guardians of)- that way parents will be forced to take responsibility for their children owning Call of Duty or Halo and stop blaming our subculture whenever some nut job snaps and does something stupid.
So it looks like 89% of parents should learn how to use their kids' console's parental controls, or actually exercise their right to refuse sale of M-rated games to their kids....
If violent games are a target for blaming the world's problems on, consenting adults should also not be allowed to drink, smoke, gamble, hunt, shoot at ranges, drink coffee, eat anything with sugar, have premarital sex, be homosexual or any of the other wonderful freedoms that we enjoy in the western world....ect. The problem will always be parenting more than the world in which they are parenting in. If your kid is displaying violent tendencies, tighten the reins a bit and provide him/her with some context- if the problem keeps getting worse, put them in treatment. Don't tell me and other people who are over 25, live on their own, make their own living and pay their own taxes that we can't play a first person shooter in our downtime if we want to.
